Stripped down in their own Livingston workshop too. They have the capability to run a car with the facilities they have.

Which would also explain their appeal for greater backing in 2019 - linked to A1 Automotive running the car next season?

I'm expecting Oliphant back at Ciceley. And Morgan. So yes, that would be three cars. Remember Uncle Alan has the one BMR surrendered 😉

Edit: TBL that is!

I believe yes on all counts for Aidan Moffat. A proper Scottish team on the grid, been a while since we last had one.

Handy for Knockhill too!

Don’t forget too that there is likely to be a pair of Civic’s looking for a new home as BTC are upgrading to the FK8, question is who & with what TBL’s & Team?

Chilton will be at Motorbase, I'd be very surprised if Cole wasn't too.

Tordoff is another matter. But I think he may be another that owns his own TBL.

Actually I'm now questioning myself over the ex BMR TBL - did that go to TOCA or did PMR buy it? Pretty sure it went to TOCA but now doubting myself.

PMR purchased it and handed back one of the ‘loan’ ones to TOCA.

There was a rumour that Plato has one TBL as part of his deal with assisting the BMR project, but that is only a rumour. Tordoff has one for Team Gardex, Moffat one with Laser Tools Racing, which they could take to any team, from memory I don’t think any of the other drivers bar Matt Simpson.

Not correct. TPR entered to run a Focus for a man who if I remember rightly was Alex Martin: Dextra being his company / sponsor. Motorbase were going to run the car but David Bartrum hibernated the BTCC team for half a season due to Airwaves leaving him high and dry.

So the Focus and equipment were acquired by TPR from Bartie. Subsequently Alex Martin gave up on BTCC and Jelley landed in the Focus which was after a poor season replaced with a BMW from WSR.

Here endeth a potted TPR BTCC history lesson.

Since InTune Racing back in 08? The Infiniti project doesn't count as that was based at Mallory.

It had nothing to do with Airwaves. That sponsorship had ended the previous sponsor. David had two big sponsors lined up for that year but the deals fell through about 2 weeks prior to the first round.

Apologies to Mr Airwaves then. Sad situation that DB and the boys were left in. I was very happy when they returned 😀

correct to a point. but Jelley owns the BMW and BMW equipment. The focus went back to motorbase.

Hmmm interesting, not what I was told by a team boss earlier in the year. But I stand corrected if that’s not true!

no driver (that doesnt have their own actual cars and race team operation) owns a TBL

Technically not the race team operation, the cars yes & a race team name really. Until he split with Eurotech Matt Simpson hasn't had his own race team, with Speedworks, Dynamics & Eurotech running his 'race team'. Laser Tools have had Ciceley run/serviced their Merc & no full race team operation.

Ok to clarify, the answer I got to my question (to the well respected team owner) of ‘who’s got BMR’s 4th TBL?’, was ‘The Tordoff’s’ so maybe it belongs to Team Gardex, but that doesn’t overcome the need to have a car?!?!

I'm not arguing as to whether the Tordoff's own a TBL or not, just pointing out that Laser Tools isn't a full operating team (or should I say wasn't), neither was Simpson Racing until midway through this year, it was 'just a name. So theoretically if Team Gardex had a car they could own a licence.
