DAYTONA 500 ON UK TV
Has anyone on here got any news on how to watch the 500 live on uk TV?.

ESPN sem to have highlights only and Motors TV has the other series.

Premier sports are showing the Daytona 500 and the whole sprint cup season. Some of the pick up races will also be shown. Costs £7.99 a month from memory.

Premier also offer a streaming service on their website but I would strongly advise people not to use it, as callling it poor quality wouldn't do it justice.

On sky premier seems cheap low bandwidth. I wish it was still sky HD. Highlights, but ESPN HD for me.

I haven't seen a press release, but the schedules suggest that. I looked for the 500 last night.

Just starting to watch an ESPN highlights programme. It is the same as the sky highlights package last year. Which looks like just a basic NASCAR produced programme for flogging around the world. Still it is one hour long and nearly all that is racing.

they had the Sprint Unlimited last weekend "next day" from memory, so surely they'd have the main season races (as in why buy the rights to the Sprint Unlimited only).

It's on CH1 Monday morning.......live. I pulled up the CH1 website.

ESDST starts at 10am.
EST starts at 9am......as in Queensland......no day light saving time here.......they don't understand it and get confused. LOL.

It goes for 5 and a 1/2 hours.

The 30 minute magazine program NASCAR Now is on ESPN and that's it far as ESPN Europe is concerned with NASCAR I think. I haven't heard about highlights?? NHRA and Indycar make up the rest of their European offering in relation to US motorsport.

Trucks and Cup are on Premier Sports (Setanta) and Nationwide (and Grand Am) is on Motors TV.

All of that is vulnerable to being bumped mind you bar Cup. Premier Sports do put herculean efforts to roll out Cup live even if a race only takes place on Tuesday. I have never heard of them miss a live slot albeit they have said Trucks will only be shown live on occasion. With Trucks they said something about voting for the live races on Facebook whatever that entails. If it's after 12 midnight GMT and a Nationwide race is starting; Motors TV almost never show those races live.

Unless someone has new info I think that sums up the state of play in the UK, IIRC.

I thought "Setanta" went bust a few years ago??. I cant find the Premier package on my TV, is it only available overseas?

Premier sports is run by some of the same people who were behind Setanta, I believe.

Last I heard they were showing the whole cup season live, along with a minimum of four CWTS races, which is where the voting thing comes in. The rest of the truck rounds will be highlights.

The live truck races have already been voted for, Daytona last night, Talladega, Eldora and something else.

Nationwide is on Motors but as has been said if its a Friday race they will show it recorded on the Saturday and sometimes they will show races delayed if it clashes with something like Grand Am or Motocross.

Sprint Cup is on Premier Sports, they are yet to miss a race even when its been delayed until Monday BUT this year it appears they dont have the world feed so when the USA switch to adverts they show adverts which didnt happen last season.

They still brand it Setenta in Ireland.
