Clio Cup: Silverstone Predictions

Two more races this weekend after the excellent pair we got at Thruxton.

Can it get any more exciting? Or clean and honest?

How often do we hear of a driver (Jonathan Fildes) insisting the other driver (Daniel Buxton) should keep his win? For those of you who don't know, Fildes admitted to the clerk he'd put Buxton onto the grass coming into the chicane - that's why Buxton had to straightline it.

A terrific sporting gesture and one that has got him noticed ...

I still think Buxton will be difficult to beat at Silverstone, though.

Isn't it just.

Rockingham and two races this weekend. I remember well the last time they competed there, in the 2001 winter series. There were only a dozen cars on the grid, but what a pair of races!

Many congratulations to Jonathan Fildes on his first Clio win at Silverstone. Shame for Buxton in the first race. He was leading but then had a repetition of his brake problem from qualifying. The second race brought something extra special out of Buxton. From the last row of the grid (he'd failed to set a time in qualifying because of the brake problem), he finished third. Superb to watch.

With Fildes bound to be on a high after his Silverstone win, this weekend could be very interesting.
