Possibilities for F1 Testing Teams

with F1 testing banned that means a lot of talented people will be looking for new jobs. I wonder if this may bring F1 teams back to Touring cars. Like how Williams ran the Renault Touring car program in the '90's. I could really see the Mclaren Test Team Showing up on the DTM series with a Mercedes. I doubt these large teams would let some of the people responsible for building there F1 cars just walk out the front door and maybe to competitiors. Sure they can save a few of them but these are complete teams that need somewhere to be I guess will see. just a thought

McLaren have no relation to the Mercedes DTM program, solely run by HWA. So I cant see that happening.

The Williams Renault programme only happened at the request of Renault themselves who helped and supplied Williams F1 at the time as a manufacturer, after the link between both parties finished so did the programme which was a great shame.

It did at that point demonstrate how F1 could be translated into a touring car.A golden era which were unlikley to see again.

I think the test ban is ridiculous. All the teams do is built test rigs that simulate testing, so any supposed cost saving is blown on the construction of the test rig. And we don't get to see them going round a racetrack somewhere.

It would be interesting to see if they sneak a Formula 1 engine into a touring car for testing.
