All those have been confirmed by team members online or in press releases (which seem to have been the source for that article). The only one that looks like it will happen right now is the Ferrari; Level Five/Supercar Life is currently active in the series and apparently just waiting on the Ferrari engine being approved. However, the Aston Riley is for sale, and Margraf was last reported as looking for funding to field the Honda, so they may not actually appear even though legal.
It's also not the factories themselves, just their engines. I do wonder if the Honda 3.8L V-6 could really compete, and the Ferrari belongs in a Dallara chassis, but it's still nice to see them in the series. |

Does this car have any chance of seeing a track? Seemed like pessimism was the word of the day after the 24 and thought I had read half the field wasn't going to make it to VIR. Building a new car, even if the AMR livery makes it by far the best looking DP now, sounds like an insane idea.

Now about the Aston: Lake Forest Sportscar was announcing last year that they had bought a DP and wanted to go racing with it, if not in 08, then surely in 09. Now their car is for sale... If I were to buy a DP I definitely wouldn't go for a total unproven combination. I guess they'd have a better chance for selling the car if they had shown its potential in at least one race... |

Muscle Milk ran an old Riley in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, it had no connection to Grand-Am.

The series needs an infusion of new power plants and getting the Ferrari and Aston Martin engines cleared would be a great and very interesting addition.

Cytosport ran a few races in GA in late 2006 and the car they had was the one formerly campaigned by Margraf, so there is a connection, but I think the GT-eins-article is reading this into this story that just aren't there.

For an engine debut I'd say not setting the world on fire is a good result.

Dear God.
Someone buy the Aston. Then dig a hole. Put the poor car in it. Fill the hole in. That is, in NO way, an Aston Martin. |
