Great news. Mark has proven to be a great development driver and tester, so perhaps he could fix some of the problems. I'd still prefer him to go to Toyota however.

Alonso, Webber... who's next to try the kitten?
I'd like an Alonso-de la Rosa lineup for 2003... |

you got that right calais but at least he'll be paid by Jaguar rather than his sponsors paying for the drive.

Wow! Great news, I really hope he can do a good job, set some good times, and we can see how things go from there.
Arrows, Benetton, Minardi, Jaguar - Mark will have driven half the grid soon |

seems to be some sort of dealings going on between renault and jaguar as im pretty sure Webber is on the same deal as Alonso was last year, under contract with Renault but racing for Minardi.

While the idea of Webber in a Jag sounds great, I like the one where he's in a Toyota alot better.

Webber at Jag may be his only option for next year if Minardi aren't around. Therefore this is good.
It is slightly ironic, though. At some stages this year (notably Imola - where he was sticking it to them), Webber has commented on how bad the Jags looked to drive. I agree, I think Mark would look much better in red and white overalls than green ones. |

With due respect to Pedro, I think that Mark and Fernando in the same factory team would be a sensational long term driver combination. Jaguar, with all its resources, can only improve. I cannot see them being the same lousy team next year.

If its Jag or no drive, then Jag it is. But I can't see it happening. Both Toyota and Jaguar have the money to attract what they really need, an established top rated mature driver. Who would take the job that they'd want though? Good Luck Mark. |

If Mark can keep up his consistent performances this year for Minardi (if Minardi can see out the year) then he may just find himself in a better seat next year.

Irv's days may be coming to an end at Jaguar. It seems the Execs are keen to find a new driver hence the test with Alonso and now Webber.
If Webber is on the pace straight away - then he may go home with a Jaguar contract. That would be nice although I hope Irv finds another drive. Dont want him to quit F1 just yet. |
