'N' and 'E' labels on car

Hi,

I've seen these decals on an F1 car for ages, but haven't got the slightest idea what they mean. The 'N'(in a white circle + red outline) is found slanted, slightly ahead of the driver's cockpit, while the 'E' is directly above the fuel cap. Can anyone explain? Thanks in advance

These identify the positions of:

N = A button which can be pressed to place the car in neutral gear. So they can be moved by marshals etc..

E = Is the position of the button which operates the in car fire extinguisher

I see... so how are the marshals to access these mechanisms? Open a cap and press a button?
Thanks.

The electrical cut out switch ( kill switch) is identified by a blue triangle with a red flash in it.
The Extinguisher can be operated by a driver or marshal either by pressing a button (on electronic systems) or pulling a small handle (mechanical), this will then operate the in car system.
Im not sure with the 'N' . This is usually only emplyed on cars with semi/auto gear boxes. I think this is also done using a button.
