I seriously doubt it, if it would then certainly under a different name, like Mecachrome or something.
But i seriously doubt it... |

Only if they are forcet to do so! But i doubt it!
And if they do, it doesn't mean - the team owning one will be in 10 ten! Just look at Sauber! |

The Renault engine isn't among the best out there, and it seems to require a particular car design to get the best out of it, so it wouldn't be an ideal choice for a private team anyway. It's more likely that Toyota, Mercedes or Honda will be supporting teams in the near-future.

Boots is right, but I don't suppose Jordan would be too pickey at the moment!

Jordan and Minardi had old Cosworths until now, somehow I don't think they'll fuss too much if they're offered some Renault engines.

Renault have had some different V-angles since they returned in 2001 (111deg 01-03 and 72deg in 04). Most of the other engines are 90deg (I think) and under the current rules that seems to be the way to go with a low CofG without making the engine too wide. So it would require quite a re-design for any team wanting to use them.

Jordan's Cosworths were the same spec as Jaguars, not old. Anyway, they'll have Toyota power in 2005. |

They've had the same Cossies as Jag all year pretty much.
And Eddie Jordan gave a "nod and a wink" about the Toyota deal on Sunday. |

. will next year engine still be a 72 ?? .. and if they will sell the engines . will probably be the 2005 spec . i think we can expect big improvements for the Renault engine in terms of power .

Any rumblings on what engines Minardi might use next season?? If Kevin Kalkhoven buys Cosworth (rumor), would Minardi stick with Cosworth?? Hope to see Minardi running in F1 next year, albeit running in the back of the pack.

They are apparently going to build their own engines.
Many year old Cosworth derivatives. D. |

Buildign their own engiens is the last resort if nothing else happens - Paul Stoddart said that so as to reassure people that the team will continue.

It looks like Cosworth as been sold tp Kevin Kalkoven of Champcar fame so paul may still get Cosworth engines but at what price?
Renault could provide him with a an engine but there would need to be a whole lot of re-engineering. Better still why not provide him with R24's on loan for a year, badged as Minardi's and Montagny. It's also time they got rid of this silly cant sell/pass on chassis rule. |
