I understand no replays and not giving out any information whilst they don't have it, but they just went into "didn't happen, carry on" mode. I'm assuming this was an SRO directive, because Addison is better than that. --- This Ginetta race is amazing. |

The Spa 24 Hour race direction has been utterly abysmal. We've missed most of the green flag restarts because they show the highlights reel at the end of the yellow flag, but the highlights are 5+ minutes long. SROs handling of the 24 hour has been getting worse for a while and this year is no different. I suspect this was more an SRO thing than an Addison thing, as Addisons stance when covering GTWC is very much "Have no opinion on anything", which is bizarre to listen to. |

Commentators ALWAYS reference a bad accident. Referencing an accident is not speculating about it. It's absolutely normal for a commentator to say "We won't speculate and get you more information when we have it" - which is ALWAYS "We have an official statement from X". That rule book doesn't say the commentator must not reference anything which isn't on the screen. The idea of covering this topic with rules is kinda hilarious. Fortunately most TV production is not that bad. Unfortunately, SRO takes your stance and this years coverage has been atrocious throughout. Addisons job over there is be as bland as possible, and make sure John Watson doesn't say anything offensive. I want BTCC David back - that's much better than SRO David.' |

Is it a sign of how 'clean' the BTCC has become, that the discussion of an accident in a BTCC thread is focused on the commentary at another track, in another series?

Not seen any of what is being discussed but an absolute pet hate of mine is broadcast TV/ live stream/ whatever media not keeping the public up to date when drivers, officials, fans etc. are involved in accidents. I couldn't give a sod about results, podiums or any of that when not knowing how someone involved in an accident is. Life is far more important than a trophy.
Even a bland Mr X has been taken to Y medical centre and no details are available tells us something. I find the US coverage of NASCAR (both Fox and NBC) to be very good at keeping fans in the loop. |

This is what they call a green-white-chequered in America! A proper one!
Btw who said onboard cameras add nothing to racing? They do a lot! Especially those where you can see the driver at work. (I know it's not the first weekend with onboards). |

"We've been told Jack is out the car"
Thank you commentators for filling us in on a drivers condition after an accident, since we couldn't see it on screen. |

Well that was even worse than race 1 except for the last lap, seems this track just creates a train of cars with almost nothing anyone can do
