Team Agusta
In the PS2 Le Mans game there is a GT2 car called an Agusta. Was there really a car and team which ran at Le Mans. Who ran the team, who were the drivers, what years did it race, were they competitive....

"Team Agusta", or Agusta Racing operated in the mid '90s, racing mainly in the BPR. It was the creation of Rocky Agusta, the heir of the Agusta family (of the helicopters and MV motorcycles fame).
He started racing in the Venturi Trophy then, again with the Venturi, progressed to BPR and Le Mans. After they raced a couple of Callaway Corvette C5.... Among the drivers I can remember (first hand!) Almo Coppelli, who was also a director of the team, one of the O'Brien brothers and rally ace Sandro Munari. At some stage the team relocated to England and Keith Greene joined as TM. Incidentally on the January issue of "Motorsport", page 36 there is an "advertsiment" about Almo Coppelli current business and its story, that in turn relates about some Agusta Racing facts.... |

I saw one of the Augusta's competing in a round of the BELCAR championship last year.

I saw this team compete in the BPR series a couple of times at Silverstone. Things which I really remember are how Almo Copelli drifted the back end wide time and again going onto the start-finish straight and also just how unnaturally quiet and smooth the car was.

about the Belcar one
The one that raced the Belcar series was the chassis that raced Le Mans in 1995 (I think). It was updated by the RTM team, but it was never reliable. So now the car is on sale again.
