IANHEB should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There was a new 822 to ZA for Graham Duxberry to drive with Hekro Engineering sponsorship. First race is April 1982 so it would have been one of the later cars, but none on the list seem to match.

Just adding some extra info/corrections to the preceding posts!

Ian Scheckter retired at the end of 1979 and only made his comeback well into the 1982 series, driving a March 782 (sponsored by Hekro) and prepared by Ken Howes, who also prepared Graham Duxbury's Hekro March 822 that year. For the duration of the 1982 series, Duxbury drove the only March 822 in the SA Sigma Series.

Scheckter again had Team Gunston sponsorship for 1983 and started that year with an 822, prepared again by Ken Howes, which I recall reading somewhere was an ex-Art Merzario F2 car from the year before. This car was apparently upgraded after a few races to an 832 and the old 822 bits were sold to Fred Goddard, who used them to upgrade his 812 to 822 spec. Scheckter drove the 832 for the remainder of 83 and 84, winning the SA Drivers Championship in both years and equalling John Love's and Dave Charlton's record of 6 championship victories. He retired from single seater racing for the last time at the end of 1984 and the Team Gunston sponsorship then went to the quick and promising John Moni, who would have surely regretted choosing a recalcitrant 842 for his 1985 weapon, as opposed to the now sorted 832.

Here's a pic of Ian Scheckter in the 832, which I took at Killarney in 1984 : http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterel...7616887012451/

And then there's the case of 82A-4, which became an 822.

After Doug Shierson Racing used this car for most of the CASC Formula Atlantic season, it was shipped back across the pond and re-powered with a Hart 420R engine for Derek Daly to drive in the Formula Two race at Donington on 25 June 1983. Now, years later, 82A-4 is powered by a BMW M12/7 2.0L engine like many of the original 822s were from the beginning.

We don't get to see many F2 cars of this vintage in North America. When it runs, it's typically grouped with Indy Lights (i.e. mid nineties vintage cars with Buick V6 engines.) The 822 doesn't quite keep up, but it still performs quite respectably. Around Watkins Glen, for example, the 822 runs about 110mph average speed and the Indy Lights run about 116mph.

A very detailed article about 82A-4 - including ~60 close-up photos of design and preparation details - appears here:

I'm not sure how many 832 chassis where made nor who ran what chassis numbers. Can anyone shed any light on the 832 chassis numbers

There were 25 built, and the 1983 histories are known for the vast majority of them.
