Cheers. I managed to get the number during the window of opportunity. The G.E.A.R. crew sounds just the group I am after.

Regards

G.E.A.R Report???

I think we have just had a G.E.A.R event.......anybody want to report on some of the antics or interesting cars that might have turned up???

I this is not in the spirit of G.E.A.R then.... that's OK (I'll just pull my head in! )

The GEAR club turned on another great day last Wednesday. weather was around 14 deg and around 50 participants turned up.

2 highlights for me was firstly introducing a mate to a real car without doors and guards, and the other was seeing Leo Geoghegan doing some laps in the car again after an absence of 42 years and 6 months.

He very kindly said he could get very comfortable in that seat, but after driving the type of machinery he did especially in his later career, an understeering Lotus 20 with around 85 bhp and Renault gearbox would have seemed very very tame.

Anyway Leo put in some respectable laps, and didn't beat my best time of the day with it....

Oh and may mate, well he's not going to trade the GT3 in quite yet, but I think he certainly enjoyed it.

At the end of the day the 20 brought 3 big smiles on 3 dials, and that is after all what GEAR is about.

GEAR is a fantastic concept that captures the true spirit of why people go motor racing, to have FUN. Congratulations to Dick and others for their devotion to there cause.
