JMeissner should be qualifying in the top 5 on the gridJMeissner should be qualifying in the top 5 on the grid
[STCC] Race 7 - Falkenberg (SWE), 13 July 2008

The Swedish Touring Car Championship heads on to the seventh and final round before the summer break.

The championship fight has turned in to a four-way battle between Richard Göransson, Thed Björk, Fredrik Ekblom and Robin Rudholm. Only six points separates the four - who will be on top after this weekend?

Björk probably, he should win this one, he won this race last year and its a track that suits fwd cars and especially the Honda with its long wheelbase for the fast corners. Thats my bet anyway.

He still has got a heavy car.

Dahlgren will be very quick as he still is very light.

But of course there are many for the fight. Schie shouldnt be counted out.

Dahlgren is always quick, but I'm sure he'll find some way to sabotage himself again

Looks like we'll get a decent grid for this one, Mikael Eklund in a BMW, Rosenblad is back and Kristoffersson said he was working on something interesting for this race, maybe 2 cars with him and Simonsen? On the other hand, Anderssons Alfa is still in Italy and they are hoping they'll get it back on saturday.

Completely forgot that Dahlgren has -10 places on the grid, so I dont think we will see him winning.

No Tommy Kristoffersson on the grid. Engine is still in Lichtenstein after rebuild and upgrade and has been delayed because of freight issues. He also mentions how they have earned money by letting Lvov rent the car so they could upgrade the car .

Estonian Saksa Auto didn't get their Å*koda Octavia's engine from Lehmann in time either (they missed Alastaro and Pärnu rounds of Finnish TCC)... Any idea what exactly is the problem?

I was pleasantly surprised by Lvov at the last race. He was still pretty much last, but he was much closer to the rest of the field than he's been up until now, and his pace in the race wasn't terrible. Seems like he's learning.

Thanks a lot Meissner for the excellent up to date listings of total car weights lately! It tells so much about the relative performances but is usually very hard info to track down. Keep up the good work!

Ekblom wins, re-takes championship lead, Rudholm second and Rosenblad third. A lot of punctures and safety car periods.

But this time he managed to find the barrier backwards, thats a first! Rather expensive repair I would imagine. I doubt anyone wants to buy that car after this season!

I don't know how much of it appeared on TV, but the organizers managed to mess up pretty much every SC/Rescue car situation that appeared. It was chaos all throughout the day, not just during the STCC race... It was also nice to see that Mattias Andersson won the argument he had with the marshals when they wanted to use the tractor to lift his car away once the race had finished. Only a puncture, so he only needed a new tyre from his mechanics to take the otherwise undamaged car into the pits. I have full understanding that he didn't want to trust his newly repaired car to anyone else.

I didnt see more than the STCC race, but it for sure looked a bit flaky on the track management side. Sure confused a few of the STCC drivers as well.

The Superbike race was just crazy, cars/ambulances everywhere on the track with bikes going through at full speed. But its been like this all season, very very poor handling of the SC situations, something needs to be done, the race director obviously cant handle it and its more dangerous then safe! And did they ever sort out if Rosenblad did overtake under SC or was Göransson wrong in letting Eriksson back through? And why on earth do you send out a doctors car on the track right ahead of the pack in a car that looks exactly like the SC eventho the SC isnt even deployed? Its just laughable really.

They really couldn't organize a **** up in a brewery could they. I've looked through the regs but they don't mention medical cars or ambulances. I don't understand why this has to be so difficult. Saftey Car goes out immediatly, picks up the first car that comes by. Send the medical car and ambulance out togeather with it if you really have to. Neutralize the field, attend to the driver, clean up the accident, wave the cars by until you've got the leader at the front and then green flag it.

Very nice picture sequence at TcT of Lvov's crash, something all TV cameras managed to miss.
