Sparky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Last time we went testing Chris' Mighty Mini, it was a mid-sixties BRM, Graham Hill-style. Definately an incentive to testing in the February cold! (Only kidding, Chris!)

But...

We saw this car today!!! Testing at Donington Park circuit it was, and it was bloomin' quick, too!

It seems to be the same car - the '71 season 711 March of Ronnie Petersen - but it had a JYS/Tyrell style 'teapot' airbox on it. Other than that, identical, right down to the coffee table spoiler!

My word it was loud!!

Did a car actually ever look like that?!?!!

I've seen highlights videos from the 70's, but I can't ever remember to have seen something like this!!

Just when you thought you'd seen it all...

Oh, yes. It definitely did look like that.

Actually, there were three entirely distinct noses that could be applied to the March 711 from recollection. There was a full-width high nose, a standard air intake with twin fins, and this glorious tea-tray device.

Not sure that all of them raced, but they certainly tested a wide variety of aerodynamic solutions.

And best of all, this one is race ready, and coming to a historic meeting this summer. Should definitely be worth a watch.

Could this be the car you're discussing here

Now I've got the photos back, I can see it's got Petersen's name on the side.
