Laguna Entry...No Audi

Laguna Entry is out:

http://www.imsaracing.net/2009/event...%20Entries.pdf

I guess this means no Audi?...sad because earlier this year I believe they stated they would do the last 2 races. Thought maybe they may want some more racing laps heading into next season after the shortened Petit too...

It was obvious Audi wouldn't be there from the moment Peugeot said they wouldn't be there.

I thought Oreca declared they would be there, too.
When did Peugoet decide not to go? Last I'd read they were going. Must have missed it somewhere.

The surprises are who is on the entry, not who is not. No one was expecting Audi, Peugeot, or Oreca. Likewise no one was expecting ECO, Drayson & LG, and there were doubts about RSR and Corsa. A good looking grid IMO.

This is why I was wondering about Audi:

I know things in the auto industry and racing have changed a lot since then though...

Right, you made the point... Audi, Peugeot and Oreca we will see at Sebring, that was what the teams were talking about they like to do next...

I'm fairly certain Drayson had said they'd do Laguna, but yes Audi, Peugeot, and Oreca made no mention of it.

extramundane has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Guess I'm less surprised than you, by who's on it, than who is not. There are those who read Peugeot and Oreca wold be there. Audi said long ago they would not be at Laguna. I never expected, nor mentioned Audi. And I do agree that it's a good looking grid. I'll enjoy my weekend there.

You are right, I was thinking of their P1 car but they had previously stated their intention to be there with the Aston. This race will be earlier next year which is too bad since the teams that come from Europe for Petit will not have a second race to stick around for.
Breitling24, enjoy the race!

Next year, it doesn't seem as if they're sticking around this year to it. (even though that quote says Peugoet was going to. Oh well.)

Thanks Canada. You can't beat Monterey, anytime of year.
