That is the sound of straight-cut gears, it does seem to be louder than normal but that could have to do with microphone placement.

Thank goodness!!! The 6 Series is too big for GT3. It should race either as a GT1 or a GT2, and the M3 should compete under GT2 or GT3 class.

I don't think he meant too big to be competitive, he meant too big to fit with his perceived spirit of the rules. I'm not totally sure I agree - after all there are many prospective GT1 cars (Ford GT, Aston DBRS9 for example) that also run in GT3.

This car is supercharged so that whine isn't necessarily gearbox noise. It could be the 'charger.

Agree, just as the M3 GT2 car is a big improvement on the road car's looks in my books, so too is the B6S GT3 way way better looking than the M6, especially spitting flames at dusk!
