TVR Griffith driver David Brown won both rounds at Knockhill last Sunday.
In his first outing of the season, in the car he shares with his father Kenneth, he was close to lap record times and was comfortably
ahead of Andy Graham, TR7V8, who took second in both races.

Martin Reynolds travelled from Norfolk to record two third place finishes in his Escort MK2.
Alasdair Coates, MGBV8, was fourth, from championship leader Charlie Cope, Golf GTI, in each race,
these two having swapped places and lapped in very similar times.
Craig Houston continued his excellent form with two sixth places.

In race one seventh was Adam Kinmond, Rover Vitesse, followed by Jimmy Crow, Ford Escort MK1;
Niki Dickson, Lotus Cortina; Ian Mitchell, Vauxhall Nova; Michael Anderson, Ford Fiesta; Paul Bowers, Fiat 128;
Ewan Anderson, BMW2002Tii – enjoying his first Scottish Classics event;
Ian Morton, Austin A40 Farina; Duncan O’Neill, Fiesta XR2 and David Reilly, Fiesta XR2.

Crow took seventh place in race two after a very close battle with Dickson.
Positions nine to sixteen were taken by Michael Anderson; Ian Mitchell; Colin Calder, Lotus Elan;
Ewan Anderson; Adam Kinmond; Ian Morton; Duncan O’Neill; David Reilly.

Regular front runner, John Kinmond, RoverSD1, was unable to race due to differential failure in qualifying.
Mario Ferrari retired his 308GTB in race one due to transmission difficulties.

Series sponsor Edinburgh Watch Company proprietor, Jonathan Gilbert, presented the driver of the day award to Niki Dickson.

Final event of the season will take place on 9th October.

VW Golf GTi driver Charlie Cope is the 2022 champion - well deserved after consistent performances at every event. Runner up is Iain Mitchell, who was Class A winner, in a Vauxhall Nova. Last year’s champion, John Kinmond, Triplex Rover SD1, was third overall.

At last Sunday’s meeting John Kinmond won race one by less than a second from Kenneth Brown, TVR Griffith, with Cope in third place. Andrew Kinmond had his first race in his recently completed TVR Vixen, powered by a six cylinder Triumph engine, and recorded a fine fourth place. Adam Kinmond, Rover Vitesse, was fifth; Craig Houston, Lotus Excel, sixth; Jimmy Crow, Ford Escort, seventh; Niki Dickson, Lotus Cortina, eighth; Colin Calder, Lotus Elan, ninth; completing the top ten was Mitchell.
Places eleven to fifteen were taken by Ian Morton, Austin A40; Duncan O’Neill, XR2; Paul Bowers, Fiat 128; Euan Anderson, BMW 2002; David Reilly, XR2. Mario Ferrari, retired due to clutch problems in his Ferrari 308GTB.

John Kinmond’s early lead in race two came to an end due to suspension failure, which allowed Brown to take first place, which he kept to the end. Cope was second from Andrew Kinmond. Fourth was Adam Kinmond, Houston fifth and Crow sixth. Dickson, Mitchell, Bowers and Calder took positions seven to ten. Anderson, Morton, O’Neill and Reilly were the remaining drivers who completed the race.

Sponsor, Edinburgh Watch Company, driver of the day was Craig Houston.
