British Formula 3 - 1991
Can anyone help me to know the results of the brazilian driver Oswaldo Negri Jr. in the British Formula 3 Championship of 1991?
He drives a Bowman BC-01 of the Bowman Racing. The only results that I know are: May/19 - Brands Hatch - 3th Jun/08 - Silverstone - 6th Jun/23 - Donington Park - 3th Anyone know any sites with this results? Thank you for the attention. ricardo1954 |

I remember that car, very low and sleek looking!
Think he had a bit of an up and over shunt at an early Silverstone round whilst battling with a fellow Brazilian or something? Bizarrely that was the only year between about 1984 and 2004 that I hadn't managed to get to a single British F3 meeting! Only went onto be one of those classic seasons that we get every other year if we're lucky!! Not too sure about Oswaldo's results, but don't worry ricardo, there are at least two F3 'brains' in this section who will be able to give you some information and guidance! |

The results listed were the only point scoring finishes for Oswaldo Negri in 1991. The car was the Bowman BC-1 Spiess VW.
The program from the final meeting of the year describes him as.."The hard- trying Brazilian has driven like a tiger all year and deserves better than the two third places he has collected thus far." He ended the season with 9 points. The entry for that year included, David Coulthard, Gil de Ferran, Rubens Barrichello and Marcel Albers, all currently involved in Formula 1. |

I think you may have made a mistake on Marcel Albers.

He was certainly listed in the program as scoring points in 1991, or have I got it wrong about F1?

Marcel was killed at Thruxton in 1992 (I believe). the Albers in F1 is Christian Albers and is no relation to Marcel.

I remember the Silverstone shunt - went over the back of someone on the way to Priory on the National circuit and just flew. I don't know if he'd even braked when he took off, but the impact with the barrier was sickening. Very pleased to see him walk - well crawl - out of the car.

No, that's true, but if you click on Manufacturers and then on Bowman, there is an interesting history of the car. I was surprised how many other drivers have driven one, apart from Negri, although he is the one I always associate with the car.

People like Jules Bouillon drove one pretty well in the French series and Jamie Spence was a Class B champ in '93 with one.
The BC2 was a damn fine looking car, bit more of a chunky nose than the BC1it's funnt the Renault R26 front section reminds me of that car a lot! |
