Ekström said in his press release that they are going to make very big changes to his Audi for the coming race. After 6 laps past the first pitstop his Audi started to eat tyres like crazy and made the car very difficult to drive.

Nice race anyway, and Alesi won it very well deserved indeed!

The race was very good, but Audi was a bit dissapointing, the first Audi who finished was a 2004 car with Christian Abt (together with Schneider the man of the race in my eyes), Alesi drove a very solid race. Let's hope the next race will be as good as this one, only with better Audi's and Opels.

2 of the top Audi drivers, Kristensen and Tomczyk (who did a fantastic start), were very unlucky.

That's true, but Ekström wasn't and still was only 5th. He said he had a lot of problems with his car in the races, let's hope they can solve that for the next race.

If I recall correctly the max speed limit in the DTM is 80 km/h. It's only 60 km/h at the Norisring.

Will that weight cap be applied each round? By the end of the year, they'll have to build the Vectra out of something else (like paper) to take advantage of it.

Not necessarily, if MB keeps on packing the pounds on and Vectra losing them, the Vectra can possibly get a weight advantage of as much as 40 kgs. But will that help the Vectra win races? Hopefully, the Vectras will improve more? Are they doing better than last year? Possibly?

Well, at the start of the race Marcel Fässler was quite competitive. He even overtook Ekström. If he didn't have that spin ruining his tires I think he could have finished well up in the points.

The current rules limit ballast + and -'s to maximum 20kg per vehichle but that could change through the season.

Brilliant races by Alesi and Schnieder. But breen got the fastest lap by two tenths and not afraid to mix it with Ekstrom in his first race, looks very promising to me.

How bad is the commentator on Motors TV?

What's wrong with Carlton Kirby? I like him, although I listened to German commentary yesterday (very boring, but more information).

well he kept stating the wrong car, for the driver, several times he refered to Opel Drivers as Audi cars, now I understand its one thing saying it but when your out on the spot its more difficult, but cmon are the A4's similar to the vectra's??? although Peter Dumbrecks comentry was pretty good. Although I like Carlton Kirby.
