Ten-Tenths gang are the best advisers you could have and they say that you should race. I'd love to see you in action. (Wahey). I'll bring hobnobs! We've also got a jellybaby thing going since I last met you. Can't remember who started that one off......

Is that a Maestro at the front of the pack at Brands there? Too late I've heard!! Flipping Maestro, is it heck! It's my luvverly flying Brick otherwise known as a Talbot Sunbeam Ti. And at that moment in the race I was actually ahead of our illustrious Mr Mallet - and before he reminds me, although I've been ahead of the Capri a number of times I've never actually finised in front of him Looking forward to Spa and competing against all those johnny foreigners though.... |

It was the best view i've had of the Talbot since it arrived in front of us in the Redgate gravel trap last October...

Part of my current frustration is exactly what Andrew talks about. My car is probably putting out as much power as any other car (more than some). I just can't make it go any quicker and I don't know why. I know that I'm driving it as fast as its likely to go. OK Gerry Marshall ar Skid Scarborough may well get anothe second or so out of it. There were at least three seconds a lap at Oulton which I didn't achieve because my gearchange was er faulty. That was solved together with the locking brakes between Oulton and Pembrey. However, when Tim Clarke ran it in the one-hour race, he was on the same pace as me and in the race he was faster but not faster than I had been that weekend.
It must be handling but unless I spend a week at a circuit, playing with it, (definitely can't afford that) I don't think I'll ever be competitive. So. Do I continue as is, finishing down the order, or do I take a year or so out and build something really competitive and go back to winning? Its been seven years since I last picked up some champagne. The other point from Andrew's comment is the value of the weight limits. It certainly gives the smaller cars an opportunity to win at some of the circuits. |

OK THEN!!!
Well with Spa out of the way and a reasonable result (I am credited with a 2 mins 52 secs lap!!!), I will now be entering for Snetterton. The shed will then go into hibernation on the grounds of public decency until July next year when at least I will be able to afford the body repairs!!!

A slight glitch has appeared in my plans for Snetterton attendance.
Bluebottle's sister-in-law has selected October 14th for her wedding day, and I have received an invitation. So I'm afraid that the Saturday will be spent at church, offering my congratulations to the lovely Janice and her new hubby. But as that's going to be in Essex, I shall scoot straight up to the meeting afterwards. Hope Peter's race isn't until Sunday. |

According to the fair and lovely Claire Nixon (BARC Championship co-ordinator) all CSCC qualifying and racing is on the Sunday. Maybe we can scrute on Saturday so that I have an excuse to prop "The Angel" bar up on that evening.

Don't worry Tim, qualifying is on Saturday and there's a bumper 11 race programme set for the Sunday. No need to rush away from the buffet and booze
