Mercedes. Or McLaren for playing a good team game? Ooo, I don’t know.

McLaren again. Arguably the best performing team of the double header.

McLaren and Racing Point have definitely upped their game, but Mercedes we’re off-the-scale superior.

Although I didn't vote for McLaren this time, I think they are deserving of massive praise for their recovery over the past couple of seasons. We've seen many great teams slide to the back of the grid and then disappear (Lotus, Tyrrell, Brabham, etc.). Williams have slid to the back but have yet to disappear (and hopefully they won't). McLaren was in the same position a couple of years ago yet they have now pulled themselves up to being possibly Best of The Rest, at the same time as the Big Three has become the Big Two, so they could become a part of the Big Three again.

I'd like to say McLaren - but the reality is that Mercedes have just got such a huge margin over the rest of the field that this was a depressingly easy 1-2.
The worrying thing is that Mercedes have such a big advantage that they could probably not bother with developments on this years car and still win easily. They can then start work on next years car and make sure that's the class of the field as well. The only saving grace there is that this years Ferrari is so poor they may as well start on next years car and just give up on this year. |

(How that affects a team like McLaren, who are changing from Renault power to Mercedes I have no idea) Happy to be corrected but that is my understanding. |

I gave my vote to Mercedes, simply for having got a driver and car that are absolutely singing at the moment. That qualifying lap by Hamilton was astonishing.

I believe that McLaren will be “watched” while modifying the car to take the engine so that they only do things required for that rather than chase other performance. Not a simple task, but a decent compromise in the situation.

Exactly that, the FIA is overseeing every step of the replacement and approving parts only as they need to be to match the 2020 MB requirements (guessing they'll be scrutinizing the plans closely now) for the engine and gearbox as it relates to what the current design needs are. The teams agreed to the oversight to allow the changes as part of the 2021 "continuation" cars. |

Racing Point - both their drivers were competitive and finished together (although it could have been higher). Mercedes were really on another level, though.
