Hey Star Mazda fans,
I created a open discussion group on LinkedIn yesterday, so please feel free to join the conversation. It's really an anything goes type group, so feel free to bring up anything on your mind. I would love if you joined and helped bring more exposure to this group of talented racers. Since they have not received TV exposure this year, I am trying to do what I can to help the series out and help get the drivers any media exposure possible. Some of them are going to be the future of open wheel racing if they can get the backing and luck they need! http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Star-...s-Open-3893950 Thanks and I hope you guys help support the group and series. -Jason |

If you are fan number one, then I am fan number two! I do not know Nick (just a couple emails back and forth), but I talk to Connor De Phillippi everyday. Team Pelfrey has a great team this year, IMO, the overall team to beat. Connor won the first race of the season, then tangled with another car in round two. Nick had an awesome run in round two and picked up the much deserved podium. Let's hope they both can continue kicking butt, move on up to Indy Lights and onward! I'll be at Indy with Connor and his family so I will finally get a chance to meet all the guys that have done such a fantastic job for the team this year. Here is a press release from eformulacarnews.com that mentioned both Connor and Nick. http://eformulacarnews.com/news_info.php?n=8844 |

Here is a video I shot during the pre-race ceremonies for the Centennial Indy 500, that included an interview with "Night Before the 500" winner and Star Mazda driver Connor De Phillippi.

Luke Ellery did a great job at Lucas Oil Raceway at the "Night Before the 500" meeting un the USF2000 race, he dropped back as far as 5th at the start, bought came through the pack to take the lead, before getting involved in an accident with a backmarker (i was looking the wrong way when the crash happened at turn 3)
The Silver Crown cars in particular were fantastic to watch... the only pity was the rain delayed preceedings by two hours.... and it was bloody hard to get a taxi back to downtown Indianapolis at 1230am lol.... |

Last year's F2000 champions Victor Carbone and Sage Karam bypassed Star Mazda to go directly into Indy Lights, which might be a sign that the series is losing credibility among ambitious young drivers. |

Star Mazda has a four-week break and visits Canada: Mostport on July 24 back to the ALMS bill, then Trois-Rivieres two weeks later joining Indy Lights. USF2000 will take a long break until IndyCar's Mid-Ohio Race on August 6.

I know it's not USF2000, but man, Ralph Firman Racing has made quite the looker in F2000. Future is looking bright if the cars on the ladder evolve like this.

The thread is called "F2000", so this is in. What a mean car! It's hard to do meanacing formula cars this short and tall.

There are dozens of F2000 / SCCA Formula C championships in the United States. It's a big country with lots of cities, lots of tracks and lots of racers.
