Dixon Wins
Scott Dixon became just the third driver to win in his first IRL IndyCarTM Series start, holding off Gil de Ferran to capture the Toyota Indy 300 this afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Dixon edged a charging de Ferran by .5752 of a second for the victory in his No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Panoz G Force/Toyota/Firestone. Dixon led by more than two seconds with 18 laps remaining, but de Ferran put his No. 6 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Toyota/Firestone into overdrive in an effort to catch Dixon. Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves finished third in his No. 3 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Toyota/Firestone. MBNA Pole winner Tony Kanaan was fourth in his No. 11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone. Great drive from the Kiwi,F1 here he comes |

Come on now, Criticise the IRL all you want, but the childish bashing is really pointless. This isn't 7th Gear.

So Toyota start out with a clean sweep of the Podium.
1 2 3 Honda not far behind. Ominous signs for the season |

A Kiwi = a person from NZ
NZers are much better racing drivers than Aussies |

That's another area NZ can now share with Aussie's.

Dixon was born in Australia though.
It was a great drive, and all in all a pretty good race. |

When real drivers defect, they do really well in the IRL? I wonder why that is??

Never make it in F1. Ask Tomas Schekter about the IRL leading to F1. Not a good path to take.

great effort by Dixon , he drove fantastically and was there when it counted.
in fact a good effort by all I think , only 3 retirements in the race was a good start to the season and bodes well for the rest of the year. |

First IRL race ive ever seen LIVE...quite interesting actually!
Gr8 drive by Dixon...was wondering if de Ferran would make use of Foyt Jr and get past him. Please explain how they zoom images of the drivers onto the circuit? |

computers, probably. they would layer the image of the driver onto the live feed, or something along those lines.
