Was it too late to get a GT500 car to La Sarthe?

That'd be grand! Believe me, one of these could give quite a few LMP2's a good run for their money.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid could have been the replacement. I would have much preferred to see that go around Le Sarthe, than the Delta Wing again.

Agreed

Prospeed should paint their car green. It'll be a proper green GT then.

Someone/someteam should come with an electricly driven, rotary engine powered generator. I think that could be a viable way of propulsion...

Audi should throw some vegetable oil in an R18 and enter in for G56. Imagine the smell of rubber and gasoline being overpowered by the smell of the local chippy on Friday night!

We wouldn't be able to get to all the frites vendors on Saturday night then as you could smell them whizzing round at 200k.

the highly complex phase of fine tuning the high power hydrogen fuel cell is in conflict with the on-track endurance test programme
http://www.greengt.com/attachments/n...t-june-1st.pdf

so it might be an major problem to get the power of the hydrogen fuel cell into a racecar. maybe someone can read more out of this announcement than me with my bad english.

It sounds like they were testing and pushing to match their estimated speed and performance more than the endurance. And I'm guessing they found like most teams, fast usually equals fragile and they want to last more than a few laps/hours. It didn't sound like a refueling or fuel problem but something with mechanical durability. Have to give the team credit for admitting the challenge is beyond them unlike some teams and their homebuilt efforts.
