You're definitely right. I just don't understand why the series is so popular in China that the only Chinese team is discretely racing in GT class.

The 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series achieved a live stream audience of 4.33 million viewers around the world. In addition to the global reach of the stream, 1.48 million people watched over 600 hours of Series highlights that were broadcast across 104 countries on 57 channels equating to, on average, 1.45 million viewers for each of the four races of the 2018/19 season.

-- Through increased social media video and other new content, the Series saw significant growth in reach on social media platforms. The result was each event hashtag (ie #4HSepang) achieving, on average, 8.5 million impressions and reaching 1.1 million users on Twitter alone.

NASCAR rent-ride team will field two old-gen Onroaks (unsure if powered by Judd or Nissan or whatever)

They are all there for the LM invitation. The series gathers zero interest (well, slight higher for the less septics) in Asia.

APR planning to field JSP2-Judd in addition to stock Oreca 07, so there should be still competition in the non-spec side of LMP2 as well.

1x Inter Onroak
1x Eurasia Onroak (second possible)

Non-Spec P2
1x APR Onroak-Judd
1x Panis-Barthez Onroak-Judd
1-?x RWR Onroak-TBA
1x RLR Oreca-Nissan
1x? Inter TBA-TBA

So I guess it seems that the Realm of Oreca does not extend to Asia in the spec class, and in the non-spec side Judd still shines

Most of the cars in AsLMS are second hand. These are the cars that were sold by other teams when they bought orecas.

But even teams that have canned their non-Orecas in favor of Orecas are here with non-Orecas. Like High Class, they didn't have to bring old ditched Dallaras here, but they did

Using the old car for AsLMS means you don’t have to ship it back and fourth. If they want to use the Oreca then it’ll be running between WEC/ELMS events. That might just be logistics.

Also, no need to bring s gun to a knife fight I suppose. It’s not like the competition level is as high as ELMS or WEC.

Already booked my accommodation for the Bend event.

So ATM 11 P2 cars but how many P3?

Seems several Teams have bought the new gen P3 cars and will run plus how many GT cars and can Australian GT or non Series regulars run in this event?


Should be good and unique for Australia.
