Donington - center track access with car

Hi , were thinking of going to Donington for the F3 season opener in couple or so weeks ...but was wondering , does it cost more to take the car into the middle of the track ...and what entrance do you head for ?

been to Donington quite few times , but always parked in the normal car parks and walked in to the circuit .

thanks in advance anyone .

I have never had to pay any extra to park in the middle at Donington. In fact I was on the phone to Donington today booking my tickets for the opening rounds of the F3/GT Championship and its only £15 bargin IMO.

As long as you have an Infield pass you should be OK. Head for the Coppice tunnel entrance and speak nicely to the man/woman on the gate!

We didn't have a problem getting into the infield - we just drove over to the tunnel, showed the bod standing there our tickets and got waved through. I don't remember anything about an infield pass - are they applicable for all meetings? (we went to see the DTM).

I've never heard of an infield pass at Donington, we've never had one and always park on the infield for meetings, including F3/GT ones.

Ah, sorry, it's just us marshals who have to have infield passes!

Ordered my tickets for the BTCC meeting this morning and asked whether an additional infield car pass would be required. The response was that infield parking would be free of charge and available subject to "weather conditions" - whatever that means.

Infield parking overlooking the Old Hairpin is on a fairly steep grass bank, which isn't really useable in the wet. At best you'll spin you wheels and be unable to get back up the bank, at worse you'll end up in a heap at the bottom of the hill.

There are sometimes restrictions on infield parking at races like BTCC as there are lots more concession stands and tons of manufacturer promotional stuff tends to be present. Lots of owners clubs only too. Sometimes its the luck of the drawer...often they restrict access through the tunnel at Goddards but let you through at the other end of the circuit
