On that note, I love this Glickenhaus POV video, from VLN1 QLF:

From the sounds of it, Bop for the 911R has not improved significantly:https://twitter.com/FredMako1/status/733614337311539200

Every year, something new makes me want to go back to the N24 instead of taking a year off.
For 2017...... maybe? http://www.dailysportscar.com/2016/0...programme.html |

Increase of 1.0mm per restrictor. Not really that significant.

Right, hardly anything significant. Just shows how stupid that boycott was.

Increasing restrictor diameter 1mm from 33.5 to 34.5 increases cross section area by 6%. I would not call that insignificant.

It is when top speed isn't what's causing Frikadelli's problems. Also, I didn't call it insignificant.

Not sure why most people are saying it wasn't worth it. They made a public --but probably not entirely serious, protest, and got a late concession they probably wouldn't have received otherwise. It is still a net gain and no one's going to turn down even a little extra straight-line speed.

So who else from here is going this week? I'm arriving first thing in Friday.
I've just upgraded my hire car to an estate so I need neither hotel nor tent for weekend, although I've just seen the weather forecast and I'm mildly terrified about it bearing in mind it says thunderstorms for both days. |

And sleeping in the car is much better than sleeping in a tent during a tunderstorm. Or any other Eifel-weather... I remember that one year where we were camping and temperatures were close to freezing. What a miserable experience! |

Ha, yeah, don't worry, I've experienced both in the past, this is the preferable way.

I'll be there from Thursday noon on. GT REPORT Field Office at Pflanzgarten on the other side of the road, recognizable by a huge GT REPORT banner hanging over the road on the camping (if they allow us), so come over and say hi

Working this weekend, anyone know if the streaming will get archived somewhere (preferably with RLM audio overlay)?

Gazoo racing has a stream iirc. Not sure if it's the live feed or garage or onboard. I'll look and find out soon.

Help please: I am puzzled by the entry for this race, the Nurburgring website talks of over 200 cars but the DSC resource list says 158 starters. More confusing is that DSC have two entry lists. I have never had any dealings with this race but know a few drivers doing it this year and some of the other shorter races in the series and so started to take an interest for the first time.
Where is there a full list of entries with car numbers? The lists I have seen show start number and box number and I assume start number is not car number, or is it? Are there more entries than starters, in effect some entries will not qualify to start? Just confused at the moment |

There are 158 entries, all will start (but they start in three groups, depending on class, to ease congestion).
The N24 English website is not the most reliable or up to date source. Entry list: http://www.dailysportscar.com/wp-con...erliste_01.pdf Excellent DSC resources page: http://www.dailysportscar.com/2016/0...resources.html |

Thanks, looked at all those but the drivers that I know are racing are not listed, for example in the preview DSC comment that their columnist Geo Richardson is in car 101 but he is not named in that car in the list, or in any other car. I know he could be a late addition but? Also the ADAC website says over 200 cars will take part, not the specific 158 quoted by DSC.
Another thing, is the start number pre-determined irrespective of any lap-time? I had been told the cars start in classes rather than all at once so understand that Still confused |

There's been 200+ starters on previous years so the website text is probably just a cut'n'paste job from then.

The starting grid is determined by laptimes, but the field is divided in three groups, released in 1 minute intervals, and cars are placed in their respective group according to the class they are in. Very roughly, the first group is for race-prepped GTs, the second for fast tourers and production-GTs and the last group for slower tourers. |
