Definitely surprised they didn't red flag it, I suppose all the cars ended up off the track though. Perhaps they didn't want a delay with the curfew.

Because it's not just about a tighter shot. They cut the shot earlier so you only ever saw cars approach the first part of Hislops, you never got any shots of the cars past the first apex.

The crowd looked down on the TV. Gone are the days of 10 deep all along the pit straight. People watching the Pennies already?

Reported as >40,000 through the gate on Sunday.
The record at Oulton Park is ~43,000

The 43,000 figure at Oulton is the full weekend figure. Likely <1000 on Friday (if they even count that) and <5,000 on the Saturday though so the Sunday figure around 35,000+

I have a solution! It's really very simple. Shut the M25 for the weekend, run BTCC on it! There's plenty of road width for the idiots, including some nice hard shoulder for a picnic/ fag break/ whatever.

I'd bet a significant chunk of the field couldn't run a single lap without incident...

Defiantly think the hybrid has made the Racing more processional, But more purer. I suppose it depends what you watch it for. Perhaps they’ll look at reintroducing a option tyre for next season too spice it up again?

Pretty sure we’ll see at least 1 or 2 drivers win more than 5 races this season, which has been the most anyone has been able to accumulate in a full season for quite some time now. I reckon Ingram, Cook and Turks and Hill could all get to above 5 wins.

In my opinion the move towards hybrid instead of ballast system was the best decision that could be made. Hybrid itself might not make a huge difference but at least it's something a driver has some influence on. Plus, it doesn't punish the best drivers as much as the weights system. It still allows many drivers to win/get a podium/reach Top 10 so BTCC doesn't become as boring as F1 in this matter but I'm all for the best drivers winning 6-7 races and being able to constantly fight for wins and podiums.

For me personally it's a lot more enjoyable to see drivers fighting for best results possible than trying to salvage their weekends simply because they're championship leaders and they're too heavy.

Hybrid over ballast is the lesser of two evils. It's been so much better for the championship and doesn't affect the racing too much. The ballast system had had it's day. And now drivers at the top of the championship have a better chance to fight at the front. It's hard to compare to over series, but we've had a great season so far. Hyundai have been the ones to beat, but others have had their day

It's so nice to see drivers not be sitting ducks due to the weight anymore, it's so much better as a result

No doubt about it.
The option tyre was only dropped for one year to allow teams to learn about hybrid strategy. It has always been the intention that it would be back in 2023.

Both Lloyd and Collard penalised for the incident at Oulton Park.
