With all due respect, do you think you two could take this argument somewhere else? Not sure if it's supposed to be good humoured or not but you're clogging up an interesting thread with your petty digs at each other.

You'd expect more from two "veterans".....

- funny stuff...

check out this link http://www.superbike.jp/ - for all your jap sbk results .... otherwise i have no doubt that you will find them around here & have a quick squiz when you do

So, if Checa is leaving Ten Kate Honda, does that open the door for Andrew Pitt to return to the Superbike class or is someone else lined up for that ride

Johnny Rea was supposed to have a guaranteed 2009 WSBK ride when he joined for 2008, but perhaps it will be Kiyo/Rea/Pitt, with Kenan stepping back down or moving on?

Have Suzuki made any announcements as to who will join Max N? Will it be 2 or 3 bikes, might they add a satellite team?

It seems GSE are dropping Ducati, running Yamahas instead and staying in the BSB. They want to retain their current rider line up.

Did anyone see Shakey interviewed on Eurosport about his 2009 plans? He looked and sounded extremely hacked off....

Understandable that Byrne might be down at the moment, even allowing for that interview probably being very close after a biggish crash on Friday. The WSBK works Ducati ride is gone, and his most obvious option is to try to defend his title on an inferior machine. If a decent team get works Ducatis, and HM Plant get it together a bit better than this year, he might have no chance.

I'm fairly sure he is, I do remember reading that somewhere.

Cal Crutchlow has signed for Yamaha in World Supersports according to several sites and forums.

And in an even more unlikely seeming move, Tommy Hill has just signed with Althea Honda to replace Rolfo....

So it look like Biaggi has signed for Aprilia with either Rolfo or Shakey Byrne as his team mate.... it's all falling into place for next season.....

How competitive are Aprillia and BMW realistically likely to be? I suspect Max will be paid more than at Sterilgarda but with a less competitive bike, at least for 2009. Byrne on the other hand might be best to take on any international chance, even if there's no guarantee of being competitive.

Tommy Hill would be a massive gamble, considering that he's spent almost the entire season out injured. He's a talented kid but I think a one-bike non-works team might be too much for him under the circumstances.

He has had pretty much that for the past two years on teh Yamaha anyway

Emmett was a bag of rubbisha nd before that Rochard Wren was utterly hopeless

Dont write of Hill he is a talent far and above the likes of some fo the guys in BSB right now. And the las has more guts and determination than most

So glad they ahve got riid iof watse of sopace Rolfo, my only worry is he might be going somehwere that keeps a good rider away.

I bet its Rolfo and Biaggi at Aprilia, Hoffamn will get nothing after doing all the work

With Ten Kate announcing their line up for 2009 things are looking clearer. I haven't heard anything about a lot of the privateer teams so there are lots of question marks:

Aprilia - Max Biaggi / Shane Byrne ?? / Roberto Rolfo ??
BMW - Ruben Xaus / Troy Corser ?? / Alex Hoffman ??
Ducati Xerox - Noriyuki Haga / Michel Fabrizio
Ducati Sterilgarda - Alex Polita / Shane Byrne ?? / Andrew Pitt ??
Ducati RG ?? - Lorenzo Lanzi ??
Ducati Guandalini ?? - Jakob Smrz ??
Honda Ten Kate - Ryuichi Kiyonari / Carlos Checa / Jonathan Rea
Honda Althea - Tommy Hill
Honda DF Racing - Karl Muggeridge ?? / ??
Honda Vent Axia - Gregorio Lavilla ?? / Chris Walker ??
Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse - Regis Laconi ?? / Makoto Tamada ??
Kawasaki Pedercini - Vittorio Iannuzzo ?? / Ayrton Badovini ??
Suzuki Alstare - Max Neukirchner ?? / Fonsi Nieto ?? / Yukio Kagayama ??
Yamaha Motor Italia - Tom Sykes / Troy Corser ??
Yamaha GMT Team - David Checa / Sébastien Gimbert ??
Yamaha Grillini Team ?? - Loic Napoleone ??

I've seen quotes from Laconi saying he's not going back.

Anyone else seen rumours of Randy Mamola running a two bike Ducati team for a pair of US riders?

Sylvan Guintoli is said to be testing the R1, joining Sykes taking Corsers ride? Could he be off to BMW?

Shakey could be going to Sterilgada Ducati.

This is the perfect time for Shaky to move into WSBK. Sterilgarda's bikes are not far off full factory spec, and probably will be very similar to what he rode in 2008. He lives on the mainland now, so the adjustment in his personal life won't be huge. 2009 in BSB on a Yamaha would be a big risk - if the bike isn't competitive or another team gets full works Dukes, his 2008 could be forgotten quickly.

A US team would be great news - Spies and Hayes?

Could Laconi return to Aprillia?

Will Mr Mamola be there too?

On a different note, they've annoucned the F1-style Superpole format for next year:

Top 20 riders go in to Superpole, all sessions are 12 minutes long with 7 minute intervals between sessions.

Session 1 - 20 riders - Decides positions 17th - 20th (i.e. 5th row)
Session 2 - 16 riders - Decides positions 9th - 16th (i.e. 3rd and 4th rows)
Session 3 - 8 riders - Decides postions 1st - 8th (ie. 1st and 2nd rows)

All other rows based on the results of qualifying (first and second combined).

I don't think so. Ben's manager, Doug Gonda sued Randy a while back over the deal with John Hopkins. There is probably a bit of bad blood there.

Ah, so he's at Yamaha Motor Italia for a year, that'll be interesting up against Tom Sykes. If Sykes beats him does Tom get the Tech 3 ride for 2010?
