Redracer77 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Overtaking

Take a look at these images - http://www.ff1600.co.uk/index.php?id=661

Out of interest would you say that Keith was alongside Nev in his move at Sterlings in race 1 of MSV at the A1 GP?

Should Nev have given Keith the corner or was he not level enough?

Not saying anyone is in the wrong just interested to see what "level" means and anyones thoughts on overtaking.

heel'n'toe-no has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
For me the corner was Nev's. The interlocking wheels are the give away for me in the second of the photo's. If you are in that situation, I think the driver staring at another cars front wheel should steer away then back off to allow the corner to be taken safely then try again on the next corner.

It's pointless doing anything else because at best, you wind up in the kitty litter wishing you had turned away and the worst case scenario was evident in the A1 GP race. Thankfully those yokes are solid.

To be fair to keith my left hand mirror fell down and i was having to hold it with my hand to see where he was if i saw him there i would have given room and still kept my position coz i would have been on the inside for clearways.

Its an interesting one as the first image looks like Keith was alongside but the next image it looks like the corner is Nev's.

Do you have to be "level" to be classed as your corner? How much of your car needs to be alongside the other car?

I need to get my car to last more than a few laps before I think about overtaking!!

Although Matt Howson is testing it today so hopefully we can solve the problem.

Looking from the outside, I'd have thought there was a simple question in any move like this.

"If I take my line, can the car trying to overtake avoid me, or is he already (over)committed?"

If the answer's 'no, he can't avoid me', don't take your line. Whatever the rights or wrongs of it, physics is always going to win. Avoid the shunt, carry on racing.

In this case, since both driver's are clearly ok about it, then it goes down as a racing incident anyway. Sometimes accidents happen, and that would seem to be the case here.

Let me through or we’ll have a crash

Not talking about this incident or drivers

There are a few drivers who commit to passes on the inside when at best half way along side. They are totally reliant on you seeing them and then giving them room by running wide yourself. If you turn in they are unable to stop assuming your wheels aren’t interlocked anyway. Normally it’s the guy on the outside (being passed) who comes off worse, if his rear wheel runs over the other guys front wheel the guy on the outside's airborne!

Worst of all is where you try to pull level or are level on the straight and the other guy tries to push you off the road or into the pitwall
