They (RBAR) are saying they have a Plan B that they dont expect to have to use. Tander is mentioned in the article .https://www.speedcafe.com/2021/03/08...l-svgs-season/
Personally having had a collar bone injury, the very last thing I would have wanted two weeks after surgery would have beeen the stresses of shoulder straps of a racing harness fully tightened.... accompanied by the inevitable weight transfer loads from heavy braking and cornering. |

I suppose if CL or GT are not available, Renee Gracie could get a late callup from RD

Bloody good effort by Mr van Gisbergen to ignore the pain and drive from the back to the front!
Even Mr Crompton & Mr Skaife thought he would do 2 laps and handover to Mr Tander.. He will be a very sore boy tonight... be interesting to see if tomorrow shows up another driving solution |

Bloody gutsy effort, Mr van Gisbergen!
If he wins tomorrow, they should put the number 1 sticker on the car. |

Well the early posts in this thread have aged well.
Great drive from SvG and an excellent race to watch. |

Great Supercar race supporting the S5000s.
Those tintops might just one day eclipse the openwheelers in popularity. |

Brilliant race and a great performance from SVG.
Weather may be about to turn though, so a bit of rain might make tomorrow interesting. |

And the Munted Mustang fans are everywhere crying PARITY
Not sure where they were all of last year. SVG looks to have championship winning good fortune and form, and it looks as if his 2 closest championship rivals look to have it in for each other. |

Last time a team and driver won this many races in a row there was cause for a parity adjustment. 🤷🏼*♂️

Did you watch anything AT ALL last year? Let me spell it out for you. Penske left the sport with his megabucks. Scotty Mac went to Indycar. DJR got 2 NEW DRIVERS. They are nowhere. Cameron Waters who finished second last year, and Chaz Mostert look like the real fast rising stars, but BOTH of them this year have had mechanical failures, both teams have thrown away races with mystifyingly bad pit calls, and these two KEEP CRASHING INTO EACH OTHER. Literally if you are calling for a parity adjustment now do us all a favor. 1. Dig a hole in the ground 2. Put your head in it 3. Fill it in with dirt |

Why should Waters have to drive twice as hard as van Gisbergen, to have half the chance!? It's utterly absurd. Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 21 Mar 2021 at 15:13. |

Victories split 50:50 is not now and has never been what parity measures are designed to achieve - what the measures ARE designed to achieve though is technical parity and as close as possible an equal opportunity to win across a season and a wide range of tracks, if the driver and team get all their ducks in a row. That is why parity is based on technical matters and when assessing it, all cars of each make (not just the winner) are considered. That way, a stand out driver is not performance-managed back to the field for example - as that would be a success penalty, rather than parity of makes. We've also been to the two most "straight line handling" critical circuits in the country - not unusual for a car that works really well at both of them to not be quite as good elsewhere and vice versa. Throw in wet qual and races and there's another big variable. Looks plenty close to me and naturally, when we have had two stand-out drivers duking it out for the last few years and both seeming to have an edge over everyone else, when one of them leaves the driver remaining is still likely to have that edge over everyone else. |

If you take SvG out of the equation, the parity is pretty good.
