Holden & Ford at Winton
I understand that next year is the 50th anniversary of Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria, Australia. Also moves to promote the meeting are underway already. The celebrated marque is apparently to be Ford for next year's Australian Historic MotorFest. I wonder at the wisdom of this, and ask the question - won't supporters of this marque be disappointed when the Historic Group N (seventies) Ford Falcon GTs are defeated by the likes of Holden GTR Toranas?
For many year Holden/Ford rivalry has been the focus of touring car racing in Australia - is it to now be a significant part of historic racing throughout our normally peaceful land? |
