No Simon Blanckley for the rest of the season - http://www.sibsport.com/team-news/po...to-an-end.html

I've lost track of who had which Integra, did Robertshaw Racing buy Blankley's car or is their appearance just a co-incidence?

Not sure what became of Pinkney's 2006 car, but it may be Sibsport who've sold up. Or did Dynamics still have one?

5 Integras exist

Chassis #1 2005 Neal 2006 Jordan 2007 Jordan
Chassis #2 2005 Eaves 2006 Pinkney 2007 2nd Robertshaw car
Chassis #3 2005 Howell 2006 Howell 2007 Taylor
Chassis #4 2006 Neal 2007 George
Chassis #5 2006 Shedden 2007 Blanckley

I think that's the way their allocated.

We've had this discussion somewhere before..

I remember reading somewhere that Matt Neal's car from 2006 was chassis #5, which went onto John George! Matt mentioned that he ran chassis#5 and his usual race number was #5.

If you read this from .net it states that Blanckley bought Howell's 2006 car.
http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews...m=&searchterm=

David Pinkney sold his Honda to Richard Marsh!

So that left Shedden's 2006 car unsold! Allegedly...

I was always under the impression Matt Neal got the first Integra to be built. When TD built an updated car, with all the latest "trick bits" on it during 2005, Neal started using that and Gareth Howell used Neal's original car.

Anyway we're in danger of starting to go way off topic!

Close times in qualifying, both GR cars are close ! I was also intrigued to see Smith's Leon carry Holiday Inn Express sponsorship. They must like the BTCC a lot!

As I recall that was the original plan but Neal decided to stick with his tried and tested race car an not risk an untested new chassis.

OK, so maybe it is a bit off-topic. You could split the thread.

The numbers were purely generic btw, not the actual TD chassis numbers.

Second Robertshaw car? Won't that be rather pointless as spare cars are rather thankfully banned - Isn't Warren Hughes involved in the team - 2 car entry for Thruxton and/or 2008? Or are they using it for 2 seater rides or something?

Warren Hughes is involved in an advisory capacity, although I suppose it's possible that he'll race in 2008, funding permitring. Does Alan Taylor have much of a CV? At 50 he's surely not the ideal man to bring an ambitious team into the series, but I guess it's an issue of funding, and having someone who isn't challenging for the Clio title already.

After Brands you never know when you might need a spare shell

Wasn't the plan to run both cars next year.

Hughes' sportscar commitments might get in the way of him doing a full BTCC season- he's apparently just signed a 3-year deal to stay with Embassy Racing in the LMS....
