Formulahistory should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Maxx Formula

Last season there was a second Boss GP series: Maxx Formula. Now if I go on their website, it's not working. So is that series still existing? Are they racing in 2020?

Klaas Zwart was driving there with his Jaguar for example.

The MAXX Formula is listed as one of the supporting events at the Total Truck Prix at Most over the weekend of 28.8.2020 to the 30.8.2020. They are also listed as racing at the Spa Hat Trick meeting on the 10th/11th October albeit with no spectators allowed at the moment. For details of the Most Total Truck Prix go to www.fiaetrc.com

The Maxx website has been revamp in the end of August, that's maybe why you could not access at that time.

Now you can visit the website and see the latest results and news. There is also a Facebook page and an Instagram account.

The first event of the Maxx Formula 2020 season was as part of the Czech Truck Prix in Most as mentionned above. 14 drivers entered the race there, with some F1, GP2, Indycar, Superleague Formula and F3000.

Next meeting is in Monza (with the GT Open) on September 26-27 and the season final will be in Spa on October 10-11.

The eligible cars are the same as in the Boss serie, however the regulations of the Maxx serie is slightly different.

Boss GP has only two classes. Open for Formula One and Indy/Champcar, Formula for the rest of the grid.

Maxx Formula has three classes:
- Prestige (Formula 1 from 1997)
- Advance (Formula 1 between 1992 – 1996, GP2 Series, Champ Car, IndyCar, Auto GP, SuperLeague Formula and similar)
- Master (Formula 1 up to 1991, Formula 3000, Formula Nippon, World Series by Nissan/Renault and similar)

Thank you.
For me, both series should merge.

The Maxx Formula was set up by former drivers from the other serie that were not satisfied by how Boss was run or whose cars were not welcome anymore.

Even if I understand your point (bigger grid etc...), it's very unlikely that both serie would merge.

Didn’t realise ChampCar and IRL were for old, fat, wealthy owner/drivers with old cars that are far too fast for them.

It's too early to have a clear pictures regarding the starting grid.
Thus being said, most of the teams from the previous seasons are expected to return. And I know that some new drivers have expressed interest to join the serie.
I think a grid of 15-18 is realistic.

Here is the entry list for the first round of the season in Paul Ricard with 15 cars.

Prestige class:
- Veronika Jaksch, Toro Rosso STR8 F1
- Wolfgang Jaksch, Super Aguri SA06 F1
- Didier Sirgue, Williams FW33 F1

Advance class:
- Christian Eicke, Dallara GP2
- Hans Laub, Dallara GP2
- Peter Göllner, Dallara GP2
- Anton Werner, Dallara IndyCar
- Martin Kindler, Dallara GP2
- Pierre Schroeder, Wolf GB08 Extreme
- Christopher Brenier, Panoz DP09B Superleague
- Gilles Brenier, Panoz DP09B Superleague
- David Moretti, Dallara GP2

Master class:
- Stephan Glaser, Dallara WS Renault

- Karl-Heinz Becker, Dallara WS Nissan

Not as many drivers as expected but an interesting mix of cars.
A total of 24 drivers registered for the 2021 season, so it looks good for the following meetings

My opinion: combine Boss-GP and Maxx Formula and you would have an awesome grid.

They're to fast compared to the older F1 cars which makes the F1 cars look a bit daft.

Ah! Haha I see, still a well driven 'old' F1 ought to be able to beat a GP2?

True but with respect to them it's usually the older drivers in the F1 cars and the young hot shoes in the GP2. A F1 car is harder to set up and a lot harder to run owner with 400k F1 car with few spares doesn't really want to go wheel to wheel with a 75k GP2 car.
