McLaren & BRM Gp.6 cars
I recently heard that in the early 70s, McLaren had plans for a Gp.6 car based on their successful M8 (or M20??) CanAm chassis, with a Cosworth F1 engine in the back, but that these plans ultimately led to nothing (although there supposedly was such a car, and it was raced by chris Craft - true or false?). BRM had similar plans with their P154 chassis and their F1 V12. Do any of you know more about these cars?

Chris Craft raced a Mclaren fitted with a dfv motor under the "Team Evergreen" banner.It raced in the 70's. I know it raced in South America. I have seen it forsale in a Historic-Vintage race magazine in the last 12mths. Mirage used a BRM V12 f1 motor in 1969. Dont know about BRM. Last edited by mickj; 30 Jul 2002 at 01:44. |

I'm sure there was a BRM racing in the RJB Mining Group 6 Historic Championship in 1997/98ish. Can't remember what engine or who but I'm sure I remember it at Donington and Croft (the re-opening meeting at Croft perhaps - before the track changes). I believe it was towed around behind an equally historic Winnebago!!!
