karimbo has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
(John ?) Michael Edwards in FRenault ???

Is Michael Edwards who is racing in Formula Renault for team Motorpak in Valencia this week-end, the same kid (15 years old) whose name JOHN Michael Edwards was racing in Formula Barber Dodge and who is a RedBull protégé ???

I beleive a forum member by the name of "ems" (EdwardsMotorSport) was posting in 10 tenths last year... It was his father...

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think it is.

yes it's American John Edwards, the redbull driver search 04 winner. Not sure why they are throwing him into it, one only hopes the kid gets a chance to grow and learn in due time... I think he will be doing several if not all of the remaining rounds of the championship, Euro and possibly German as well with Motopark Academy.

Call me stupid, but why is he now using an (albeit slightly) different name?

I've just been on his "official" website and it gives his birth date as March 11th 1991, therefore by my maths making him 14.

And I've also just found that this year he's been doing European karting in Italy - one win, one third place, two DNS (crash in heat race) and two DNF (engine). But that's only up until 27th March.

If he enters Formula Renault at just 14 that will be pretty interesting! Mind you, he did test an ADR F3 car when he was 12 or 13 as part fo the redbull driver search programme. Redbull must have a lot of faith in him.

Ive just "watched" a documentry titled Formula 1 Fast and the furious; presented by Jenson Button. Based on this season etc

It has about 5 minutes of footage on John Edwards and the fact he and his mum have moved to Italy. Also got footage on the American FBMW etc

8th today, 5th yesterday (but that was mainly due to bad tactics by others).

Commentators at the track kept telling everyone he was just 14, won Barber Dodge at the age of 12, could become a great driver etc etc.
Oh, and that he lives in Italy and races on a Czech race licence.
