A lot less extreme than Audi's concept but that was to be excepted, the big changes are hiding under the hood.
I like the livery, looks good |

Somebody's probably going to get in trouble for the accidental leak.

Another black, white and red livery? Color has disappeared from the P1 field, it appears. Will miss the blue and white. That was a distinctive look to me and made it easy to identify the Toyota.

I'm bad at spotting differences, there may be more "tunneling" inside the car, because bigger opening in the front, but otherwise I just don't see much difference.

i think it's the prettiest of the big three. however, very few aerodynamic changes, apparently. maybe more radical ones will appear along the way, as the season progresses.

As I suspected before, once again the "spyshots" made the shapes seem way more sleek than they actually ended up being, however I would still call this an okay aesthetic improvement over the horrendous TS040, from those angles at least. Now hope for pace to pick iup.

also, if there is one car of the big three that i really think should be white&red or red&white, that is, of course, the toyota. audi went back to silver, which was their typical livery back in the day and also combined it with the german flag (with that bit of yellow in there), which is also cool, and if porsche will go for the 3 different liveries for le mans this year as well, i would definitely call this a big improvement from last year in terms of car liveries. in any case, now all three went back to their traditional colors, which i personally like. but the toyota has the best shape, in my eyes.

Say what you will about the color choices but I think Toyota is winning the livery contest this year!

Well I will miss the blue livery, but the new one isn't bad either. Yeah, another black, white and red livery, but Toyota have yet again the prettiest car and livery

I think the Toyota is the prettiest(this year) and also has the best livery.
Porsche has the livery I dislike most (this year), and it pains me to say so. P.S. I much prefer Toyota's 2016 livery to the one last year. |

I agree with what you say, but this years Porsche has much better livery than the one used in the WEC last season. It was one of my least favorite liveries ever in motorsport.

Oh boy, it looks good in red! New front aero treatment. Samurai caught it before Toyota took the images down! Same leak as last year. I prefer darker wheels, but the car still looks nice. Not a fan of the white engine cover though, nor the huge headlights. Hopefully it can win and I hope they have new aero upgrades in the pipeline.

I'm very disapointed with both the aero and the livery. The blue was fine, this new one is ugly.
If this car improves more than 3s, I'll be very surprised. |

Toyota LMP1 Discussion
Yea I mean, this and the 919 look 90% like the old versions. I was expecting a much more dramatic change for this car and some more updated aero for the 919
Very disappointed with both cars... |

Evidently, in Toyota's case, the focus has been on revising the entire engine and hybrid package, and - most probably - designing a new monocoque to accomodate the batteries. It is not therefore surprising to see that the TS050's aerodynamic package is basically an evolution of last year's car. Let's wait and see what the new car is capable of at the Prologue. I sincerely hope that Toyota will be back in the game.

It has a lower roofline from the legality bumps on the new tub, anyways.
Overall there's not much difference between the three (four) cars from the sidepods back so it's really up front where the magic happens anyways. |

I think updated aero will come in due time. The front is all new.

A 2.4 litre, twin-turbo, direct injection V6 petrol engine is combined with an 8MJ hybrid system, both of which are developed by Motor Sport Unit Development Division at Higashi-Fuji Technical Centre. Powertrain components have played their part too in the improved aerodynamic performance of the TS050 HYBRID; by relocating the front motor-generator unit, better under-floor air flow has been achieved which will contribute to overall performance. covering over 22,000km with positive results. That is true, the rear end has much less freedom to work with, that's the reason for it. Still, the rear wings will be different as is the placement of the exhausts and maybe those winglets that Porsche used after LM, last year. I just was expecting so much more from Toyota, though.

They are claiming higher ICE power than Porsche. I would assume that would be the case, as it would be embarrassing for them if higher RPM engine with turbo recovery matches theirs.
