Larkham Gone?

According to sources close to Bazil, it seems Mark Larkham, and 5 of his most senior staff, are off to greener pastures that Larkham Motor Sport

If the dream sequence is in alignment with the planets, Larkham has sold out of the team that bears his name, to Longhurst if you believe the bananas, and is moving into WooPS full time, with his top management to run that racing team for Cwaig and the spin kings

So LMS wouldn't need to change the stationery - Larkham Motor Sport / Longhurst Motor Sport = disappointed printers on the Gold Coast.

If this is true, how do we know that Glenn Seton is not the person to have snapped up these licences?

Isn't that a possibility?

I know you will find this hard to believe, but not everything in the world revolves around Glenn Seton!!

Word also has the Orrcon sponsorship leaving the 'Larkham' team, with personal sponsorship of the 2005 driver, and perhaps his new 2006 steed over at FPR.

As a mate of Mark, I am very sad that him, the V8 ring and Orrcon have parted ways. I think the best thing would have to be selling his #10 licence to Seto and #20 licence to Bargs

Very interesting news. I have to wonder why Larko would go to team WooPS rather then stay around with his old team. Does this leave Bargs without a valid contract? I guess Wilson will be there for sure now. What about a sponser? Big news.

Not the one you are thinking about GTR. Same first initial but it's a he not she. Anyway she's only away for a short while.

Alot of crap on this webpage, been reading for years, figured I might join.

What I say is 100% true, however I am sure alot of people will tell you that

I will not post unless I am sure, you might have already read all this as I havent got time to read all these pages however.

Gore purchased Larko Motorsport, running 2 x Woops and 2 x Team Australia cars in 2006 (big effort).

Seto has got an endurance drive with Stones in 2006 to boot!

my last bit of news (that has already been said no doubt) is the Mr Gretch from HRT is looking very long and hard at DJR to replace Orr (more than 1 visit to the workshop.) Holden are none too pleased about it and the Cheque books are out!!

WAR ON! Question is, how much is he worth?

Good luck to DJR, a bloke like Gretch would really sort the show out (although I dont like him personally I respect him professionally)

Well that discounts the Marshall to LMS rumour.

What about the contract that Gretch signed way back when that says he is unable to work at another team for x amount of years after leaving HRT?

So do we believe this new story...

.. that Larkham looked at his cost budget for 2005 and discovered that with the income in place in 2006 that the team could not operate on that level of income.

So he sold the franchises back to TEGA. And Gore bought them from TEGA.

Not sure what happened to all the equipment, but it seems all the personnel have been laid off.

Scary stuff really.

storyline should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well the real story is:

Quote:
Long-time team owner Mark Larkham has sold his level one V8 Supercar licenses.

WPS Racing and Larkham Motor Sport, one of the founding teams in the championship, have merged to form a new V8 “super” team in 2006.

The move combines the resources, knowledge and vision of both Gold Coast-based teams and Larkham will be Managing Director of the new operation.

WPS Racing’s owner Craig Gore will step away from the day-to-day operations of the team and will focus on building further strategic partnerships. He has already confirmed an exclusive engine-building alliance with Queensland’s Craig Hasted.

LMS’s former naming rights partner Orrcon, a leading steel, tube and pipe manufacturer, has also been retained as a major sponsor in the merged operation.

Gore and Larkham will both have equity in the joint venture, which is set to make further major announcements over the next few weeks.

“I guess you could say that I have sacked myself as the “captain” and I could not think of a better person than Mark Larkham to take the reigns of the merged operation,” said Gore.

“We searched globally for someone to take over the racing operations and then through the merger we found him just three kilometers down the road.”

Larkham said the new partnership would be the next exciting chapter in his long and successful motorsport career.

“At the end of the day, this merger will provide us with the opportunity that we are all looking for in this business – the chance to be competitive,” said Larkham.

“I think the LMS and WPS operations complement each other perfectly. I look forward to being Managing Director of the new team, working with a substantially increased budget and being involved with someone as dynamic and as passionate as Craig (Gore).”
