How much are Avesco paying him? They must be trying a new way to justify crowd figures.

Why is he using number 05 when he has had more luck with 10 or 25?

I can't see this amounting to anything except increased exposure for Motorola. But there is a bit of me that wishes it could.

While quite happy to have Brockie out on the track in a bowls hat, I'm currently having nightmares remembering the last race he competed in where after 4 hours of Brock worship by the commentators, i was seriously considering doin' an Elvis and shooting the tele.

I can't believe some of the bashing here. The fact remains that Brock is still THE most giving person in terms of time spent with and effort given towards the fans in Australian motor racing.

I must admit I first thought that this would tarnish his farewell in '97 where he dominated the first part of the race.

But, if he's keen on having another pedal, as he would say, he'll "have a red-hot go". And I hope he does well just to stick it up some of you.

Perkins has given him a bit of a gee up, but he has also said he'd rather be racing Brock than some of the guys they usually race against.

If he didn't still love driving and racing, he wouldn't still do rallies like Targa. The man still loves to drive cars fast. Any doubts, read Steve Nally's article on his outing with Brock at Baskerville in his Targa Monaro in the current MOTOR magazine.

I must admit i am coming around to the idea of this one-off return, as long as thats all it is. Maybe he wants to have a proper send off without the ST vs V8 war going on in the background.

I haven't heard this mentioed anywhere, but is Brock driving in the QLD 500?

If he does as bad as most of you reckon then at least the back markers will get some air time! Why is everybody so sure that he hasn't had any seat time!! I am sure he will give a good account of himself on the day. Surely the Ford fans are not concerned that he will finish in the top ten, or are they. The man has forgotten more about the sport than some of the current drivers will ever learn.

I'm actually amazed that I haven't heard anyone making jokes relating to any use of a polarizer yet!

I just hope he does ok to shut up some of the non-achieving knockers out there

SHHHHH Mate Brocky is going to be mad with you. Youve let the cat out of the bag. Now they've got to remove the Polarizer again.
Shame they didnt use it in Bairds Car at Winton

Brocky is going to be mad? What's he going to do? Cast a wicked spell on us?

I don't know... I think he is doing it for all the wrong reasons... if he could put it down to unfinished business or some such thing, I don't think I'd have a drama with it. But good luck to him, if nothing else, he is showing that 'old people aren't so useless after all'

Unfinished business you say. Ten wins would certainly finish something that he started and nobody has been able get near the nine record yet. Through his professionalism he might just be able to show some of the other knuckleheads that they are going about it all the wrong way. He can still handle a car better than most.I hope he goes well,he might just cause all the negative people to think before they open their traps.

You know a few Years ago I suggested AVESCO run a support category at Bathurst for electric Wheel Chairs for all the old Legends like Brock, Johnson < Geoghan < moffatt etc.
Maybe Brocky got wind of the joke, and has mistakenly entered the wrong race
