RaceTime should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Surfers Image

Going through some of todays Surfers V8 images this evening and came across this one:

http://photos.racetime.com.au/displa...tup&cat=&pos=0

I looked at it - and couldn't decide what wasn't quite right and then it dawned on me.

How long does it take you (although I have to admit I have given the game away on the Photos web site...)

i agree Bomn, you just beat me to it but isn't it a little abnormal for Campbell to be the car controller?

Bomn - spot on - one pit crew - wearing FPV, Caltex and SBR shirts - I guess this is what's called - working together'

What? FPV? I think you'll find that SBR have three types of shirts- Caltex, Pirtek, and a dark blue SBR one with both cars on it.

Possibly - the one I'm not 100% sure about is the car controller - I know my eyes are getting bad, but I read the patch on his right arm as FPV.

Either way I find it od they are using 3 different designs for the one crew - sloppy and unprofessional IMHO.

No it is the SBR logo on his shirt( back/sleeve) also with the FORD logo, hey! but it does look like the FPR logo I must admit!
I'm not sure but, Arn't they supposed to be wearing flameproof suits, out outside the pit wall working on cars,or is that only for fuel only ?I'm not an expert, so dont hang it on me!
That was the first thing I noticed about the picture!

At surfers you have to take all the gear and crew from a remote paddock to the pit lane. So I guess they just take one crew to do both cars rather than leaving gear behind to fit both crews on the truck.

At least it should be better next year, with both sponsors integrated into the one paintscheme.

Its clearly not a FPR shirt. FPR shirts have a white strip down the side and they dont have an SBR logo on the back.

Hey - I did say I wasn't wearing my glasses (not having really noticed what they wear - but still - three different designs...)

When was the pic taken? Looks like during a practice session or something? And Campbell doesnt have a stop/go board in his hands either...

There are a couple of different designs of SBR teamwear for the different sponsors, there is obviously a Caltex car and a Pirtek car, and the associated mechanical staff are dressed in the shirts of 'their' car's major sponsor.

The guys who work across both cars, like C.Little, R.Stone & J.Stone have a generic SBR design which has all the sponsors of both cars on them, and is the dark blue colour of C.Little's shirt in the pic.

If you notice during the pitstops, the pitcrew have dark blue fireproof overalls with SP Air on them... so thats arguably a 4th set of clothing.

At the end of the race on Sunday, most of the team changed into generic black SBR polos while packing the truck... there is a 5th set...

It all makes sense in the end, remains messy because there are currently 2 distinct primary sponsors to be satisfied this year, hence the different attire.
