L'Equipe announces Prost will drive R8
The french sport paper L'Equipe has announced that Prost will share the Oreca R8 with Sarrazin and Collard, and that it will be a two car effort with backing from Orange.
hmm, where are they getting this information? We know that Sarrazin is very unlikely, as Virages.net has shown with their interview with him. So should we trust this info about Prost? Would love to, but I'm going to have to wait until this filters through the specialised media (DSC, etc) before I begin to beleive it. Isn't it more realistic to say that there could be two cars, in Orange / La Sarthe colours, and that Prost, Sarrazin and Collard might drive - but nothing is confirmed? Today could be interesting at dsc - but more realistically, the time scale could be some time yet before anything like this is confirmed (or not).

Amazing... really amazing... I mean, that L'Équipe could be so affirmative... funny : l'Équipe is positive, but mentions that Alain Prost himself is not sure about what to do !
 I can't believe it...And for Sarrazin : let's forget it, he's really clear in the interbiew he gave to Jérôme Mugnier (Virages). For me, the most important thing is the possibility of two entries, and the Orange sponsorship... this could give not only three seats for french pilots, but SIX ! And they're hungry those days... Can't wait for solid news... thanks to keep us informed Malcolm...

CHECK ! The french radio France-Infos (main information's radio in France) confirms Prost at the wheel, even if it's not signed yet !!! :confused:
And here is the l'Équipe news... If this come true, it's one of the most important event of the last 10 years at LM, for french supporters I mean... it will be sold out ! Where did I put those  tickets ?

Not really suprised. Prost already tested an MC12 at Fiorano. That deal was due to happen for Oreca but the the car was too expensive.

L'Equipe must have been thinking: "If we print it, whether Prost wants to or not, he'll decide to race at LM because we said so!" What a backwards way to journalism.
Don't get me wrong, I love L'Equipe and read it everytime I'm in France, but this was pushing it a little far. It's as if they were just testing to see just how influential they could be. Even AP and Reuters were dumb enough to site L'Equipe as a source, when it's clearly said that Prost himself isn't sure!?!?!

And the weirdest thing is that Reuters and other news sources such as Eurosport and the local ANP here simply refer to the L'Equipe article but completely ingnore Prosts denial....

From what I understand Sarrazin well only do the tramac rounds of the WRC for Subaru.

Wait and see for more news. To me , Alain prost has to train with a complete endurance crew because he never raced on a sport-car. Remember the results of Rosberg or Salo at Le Mans.

 Check : Alain Prost, beyond the "duties", mentions the "danger" to race at Le Mans... he really doesn't like the place,as aI understand it. More : all this french media mess is consternating
