FRC 2012 - Round 3: Long Beach
The 2nd round of the ALMS (and FRC) takes place on the historic streets of Long Beach. 35 cars are scheduled to start the race, the most notable is the 2nd Dyson car run by Eric Lux and Michael Marsal. It is last years car, but any addition to the prototype ranks is welcome in my book. Not surprising, but the weather should be perfect. We have the traditional ALMS classes for this round: P1, P2, PC, GT, GTC. It is a short race weekend with 2 hours of practice proceeding qualifying which begins at 5:05pm Friday April 13 local track time. Entries are due then! This is the first race that is going to be broadcast live on ESPN2, so that should be interesting.

So qualifying was a bummer..... but as the frc rules state the car who wins the pole point is the car that starts the race from the head of its class. So it looks like championship points are dictating pole winners for this round. Except for gtc.

How can we issue points for a qualy that never happened? I say only count race results for this round.
