Amie Izawa is leaving her post as Super GT pit reporter after five seasons.
I was also thinking if those MC cars are really more suitable for all Pro lineup. That's apparently the case on #2 Lotus Evora MC. I wonder if the team will get more speed with all Pro drivers instead of their current Pro-Am lineup. At qualifying, sometime Hiroki Katoh was assigned on Q1 session & able to advance to Q2, but his Am teammate lacks the outright speed for setting the laptime and just ended in P14.

But even with all Pro lineup driving the MC cars, that still can't be taken for granted. With some BoP adjustments, some MC cars are still behind the GT3 cars.

I had D'station listed as KTR. I don't know if the two companies will operate independently from 2019 - if so, that'd make 31 cars.

don't like the look of the Supra in dtm/gt500 flavor. I think it's an ugly car altogether though lol

Being Japanese, it's always going to be in competition with the NSX I guess - and the NSX is beautiful. Which makes the Supra uglier lol.

Despite rumours of retirement, Haruki Kurosawa returns to partner Naoya Gamou. Tadashi Mizota returns as team director & chief engineer.

Here it is. Going to be the GT500 car in 2020 (sadly imo)





I'm not sure what to think about it. I want to like the car but it's not pretty. The two things that are a huge problem in my eyes are the ugly nose and the bubbly roof. The latter just looks disproportionate for the size of the car.

All cars are disproportionate to the real cars in gt500 or in DTM. Some cars just fit bit more in that and we dont notice that much as we do with the supra. Its a small car and it had to be fit for the rules that means that it has to be streched in many areas to fit.
The rules dtm/gt500 right now are more fit for the normal coupe cars, they were written in that way in first place.

I'm not talking about the race car by itself but the road supra. I think it should be a Celica or something. The Supra should be a Toyota version of the Lexus LC and compete with the NSX and GTR in performance. But it's a (un)glorified BMW Z4. That's sad to me but oh well.

It looked nicer at Autosport-web "artist's impression" last summer. I've once saw Z4 next to a BRZ and they are so small - in real world new "Supra" GT500 is going to be like 86 on steroids.

Regardless of how ugly the Supra is in Class One guise or not, what's important is that the legendary car is back in top class.

Besides, if the car runs flawlessly, it just works.
