That corner after Riches will be spectacular! Quite a lot of club classes are flat or nearly flat through there, so getting slowed down enough to make a near 180 degree corner could prove ..interesting.. shall we say.

Hotel, Plaza, Retail units!
Track looks good as well. Does anyone know the length of the little tri-oval? If it's a half-mile it might be interesting with SCSA expected to go there... |

Editted to to say "for oval cars" - it's more a Stowe type circuit Ooh - the final corner is going to be banked

Well this is all very postive, I like the layout of the track, I have just read the peace on the BBC Sport Website and he says he wants to bring World Touring Car Championship, Champ Cars or Le Mans sportscars to Snetterton.
He has turn Brands Hatch around and if this is what he has planned for Snetterton I wonder what plans for Oulton Park are? |

The BBC website states that Snetterton has never hosted an international event in it's 54 year history. Wrong indeed.
It hosted F1 non-championship races in the early 60s - in the media centre at Snett is a magnificent photo of the grid for the 1962 Lombank Trophy International. The front row is Moss, Clark, Hill & Surtees. It also hosted F2 internationals and FIA 500km rounds of the ETCC in the mid to late 60s. |

Looks good. I assume the triangular section will be the school circuit in the same way as Silverstone Stowe.
Only down side I can see is that the new section goes over what was the camp site. I hope that's going to get re-located with some facilities, we can't all stay in the hotel. Have to agree with Chris, MSV have taken a lot of stick over the last year. Complains that they were seemingly wasting money on a fresh coat of paint and ignoring the basic facilities. Having been to Brands recently the place looks a huge improvement on 12 months ago. This looks like yet another big step forward. |

Wow! I've grown up near-ish to Snet and have to say that's a mighty plan. The "complex" at Sear using the full circuit could well be a pig to drive, but looks like it'll be great to spectate. I can't help thinking the banked corner comes from Oulton, where Shell is a stunning corner but inaccessible to spectators. This corner could be a great place to watch from. It's a shame russell is being lost, but the full circuit will still have a chicane at Sear by the looks of it, so maybe it's not all bad.
Last year at the Gold Cup, Palmer said he had "big plans" but never let on as to what they were. This is defo a positive move, and as long as they can fund it and pull it off it'll be spectacular, good on 'em! |

The best news is the end of the Russell chicane IMO. I know very few drivers who have liked it in all forms, it spoiled the flow - never quite the same since the almost flat old Russell!

Now I've seen a plan - I can't wait for the new circuit! I expect that for most club meetings the "twiddly bit" inbetween Riches and Sear will not be used, so the big change will be at Russell. Banked corner onto the main straight, yes please!
With the "twiddly bit", I must agree with Chris in that the hairpin will be, erm, adrenaline packed - especially as the speed through Riches is likely to be much faster. If it's built, can we start taking bets on how many cars will get through it on the first lap of the first race?

I will second that Andrew, I remember racing there before they stuck the thing there, it was much better.
I really like the look of this it is great and that banked left hander, what a corner for me lefthand drive yank, wow. The place has looked run down for years and this is a supurb looking plan and hats off to Mr. Palmer. I remember a few people knocking him a while back on here and I said at the time give the man a chance, maybe I was right. |

Yeah but not as challenging for an expert snapper like you Paul, as the heart-in-mouth original Russell! The present Russell is far too slow. The old fast one had oversteer and loads of it and went it went wrong, it did, big style..

But boo! - we lose Sear, one of the trickiest corners in the UK (everyone goes in too quick) and Coram is going to be less tight = less tricky

I wish MSV could have got silverstone, they could have made something of that, too.
Very impressed with thier work on Brands too, so hopefully Snetterton will follow. |

Totally agree about the bridge, it's a real p.i.t.a. walking all the way around and i'm sure a big part of the reason why spectators rarely adventure to the outside of riches. Shame, 'cos you get some great action there on the first lap!

Riches is a great corner, however you have not been able to spectate from there for a number of years now. Beyond the armco the farmer's field comes right up to the barrier with no place for spectators unless you stand in the crops! Also the trees just beyond are right up to the barrier. There used to be a covered grandstand there in the 60s/70s before the safety brigade extended the run-off.
