Done a bit of searching around.
Sky guides are showing NASCAR schedules for first four rounds. Some folk on various forums have phoned Sky, some being told there is only the Daytona 500 to be shown, some that the entire season, plus Budweiser Shootout and Twin 125's. On top of this, some NASN schedules are showing NASCAR! It's all about as clear as mud. It does look to me that Sky have it though - I wonder if we will have both Sky and Setanta showing it? |

OK - I watch in the region of South Alicante by satallite - what is available? Much of terrestial TV stops south of Benidorm unless you have a massive dish (house size). BBCi and ITV internet will not be received by an ISP outside UK. Suicide beckons! However if the worse comes to worst there is always Moto GP!

I wouldn't be surprised to see HD, as it is a HD broadcast in the US. Fingers crossed anyways.
So is that announcing 38 live races, or just 38 races with differing coverage? I am probably being blind and missing the crucial part in the announcement! I know it says LIVE in the title, but that isn't particularly meaningful. I am nervous as to how Sky will present it, but also excited that this will be available to a wider audience. Setanta provided excellent coverage more often than not (except when the Rugby World Cup was on and one occasion when a cricket match overran) so it will be hard to live up to. Hopefully it will be closer to that than the IRL coverage anyways which is decent, but spoiled with the silly studio chatter. Last edited by Knowlesy; 4 Feb 2008 at 21:17. |

Sky broadcast Superbowl XLII in HD. However they are committed to American Football and put a lot of effort into it. Even then only the Superbowl was in HD and the rest of the season was in SD. Most of the rest of their HD broadcasts seem to be sports that they produce (?).

Hmmm, that is a good point actually. Oh well, there is no hope.
Just try to forget HD exists! |

Sky will be in the hands of the Host Broadcaster making the HD and widescreen feeds available.
As mentioned above, all the American football was Locally broadcast in widescreen and HD, but the respective feeds to Sky weren't except that is for the Superbowl. |

Sky are in the hands of the host broadcaster....does this mean no Keith Heuwen and Sir Weird Beard?

If Sky still has it's BSB coverage then it may end up being somone else other than Keith Heuwen. |

I've got sky sports through Virgin but the 2 channel thing is a cross over from when it was Telewest. I asked them to take 2 off in a belated attempt to save money, so they did (downgraded a packaged IIRC) Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if i'm not supposed to have them anymore!!
