Micky.H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Any suggestions for 'track day car insurance companies' that are 'reasonably priced'. I don't think my current insurer would do a 'bolt on' for a track day.

Competition Car Insurance was about the best I found and the cost was something like £100 per £10,000 value of the car plus an excess of £1,000

According to MSV most people don't bother to insure for track days.

Don't forget that a lot of these policies don't pay out for things like mechanical parts and some don't pay labour charges so be sure to check.
As for not insuring for track days, if you intend doing a few days each year then it may be wiser to go the self insurance route which is what I do. But for a single day in the car you may use to go to work or the shops in, insurance may be worth considering

I WOULD CERTAINLY BE INTERESTED IN THE CADWELL PARK DATE; BRANDS IS JUST A BIT TOO FAR AWAY (ALSO BEING SO CLOSE TO XMAS TIME OFF WORK IS A PROBLEM). DO I NEED TO EMAIL YOU FOR FURTHER DETAILS OF CADWELL?

My car might need a push up to Druids but it would be plain sailing around the rest of it! Maybe Mr. Plamer might leave a few school cars out that we could play with!!

I second the thanks to JP for his generous offer.
I shall be pootling around Brands in my Ibiza TDi. It has been out to play at Donington and Curborough already, so this shall be its third thrashing this year. Just watch out for the giant smoke-screen as you come up behind me!

Will the day be organised into groups/sessions? If so, stick me in the novice group Stephen, as despite a few years experience, the TDi doesn't quite hack it against most track cars.

Phill

Phil,

The MSV staff will be organising the day on our behalf but I understand if all the places are taken (108) there will be three groups of 36 cars.

At the moment I think we have between 30-40 people wanting to take part, but its early days yet!

Is this exclusively for cars, or are two wheels allowed?

It's exclusively for cars I'm afraid unless we suddenly get a huge influx of bikers and can make up a seperate session during the day. Even then I would have to check with JP that bikes were ok.

Remember there are companies that will hire a car for a trackday. Although quite expensive you will be saving the £100~£150 you'd normally have to pay for a trackday.

For an opportunity like this it'd be worth checking out.

Not really. Barry helps out marshalling on occasion, hence the invitation.

Stephen.

Oh, I hadn't realised he had done his marshal training. It must be hard for him sitting on a post when an accident happens - what does he reach for first, the fire extinguisher or his camera - one would make him money, they other would save a car.

Well having seen some of his photographs you could be forgiven for thinking he takes the extinguisher first

Sorry Barry, no offence meant

Stephen,

I'd be happy to roll out the race car at Oulton to give a few fast laps to a few folks....Perhaps you could do a free raffle or something.....
