richo/richo
is it to early to predict how the two will go together at bathurst i think very well by stevens pace last year and jims sensational pace as well steven was brilliant last year in the race getting the car back up to 4th after larry struggled for pace and not forgetting they had a puncture early in the race too.

Good chance for the win with evergreen Jim.
One of the favourites especially for Bathurst. |

Two proven endurance drivers together, i'd say they are quite a good chance of success.

Lets hope the PE boys can produce a fast enough car, we know their drivers can do it.Maybe some one to ru the cars in a sensible manner would be the go.

Jim's a good enough driver to bring it home but he will need Stephen to perform his normal "B-Pillar Brakes" trick on a lot of Fords ... if he can catch them.

It's the cover story in Motorsport News this week - which probably makes it a bit more true than if it were the cover story of MN's competitor ...

If its true, it a bit of a coup for Larry, to pinch Jim from HRT.

Jim must really want to win it with Steven as they have teamed up a few times now, seems that every where steven drives Jum lobs in with his helmet and joins the party
Not that there is anyreason not to,jim has won everything that there is to win in tin tops so to be able to achieve the win with steven would be very special. So what's that now GRM,FTR and CP. Pretty strong combination really and probally as good a chance as anyone. |

Well now that Wayne Wakefield is back on the market, the clan had better do some serious lobbying to secure the space Richo vacated

The Cameron McLean crowd had better do the same.

Jim and Tony gone. Who now for HRT?
Whincup??? I doubt very much that Wakefield will be with HRT. M.Skaife couldn't handle someone being more popular than him in the team could he? |

McLean and Simonsen are some talented blokes who HRT could potentially be looking at? Mezera? If Larry hasn't got him signed up yet.

Mezera is not as quick as he once was, and thats the problem with drivers not getting race miles during the year...
Cam McLean should be sharing car #1 with M.Ambrose. |

I think Simonsen is the one that might find a seat at HRT.

Dont forget that this year HRT KMart and the likes will have the choice of two HYL drivers that just might be up to standard, after all the teething period is over for that team and this year having moved home they might be on their game.

Steven came second in the Primera in 1998, Jim came first in the Volvo.
I'll go SHRT flying in some Americans..... |

Just when has an American done any good at Bathurst. It's not very likely IMHO.

Maybe SHRT might fly in some f1 stars.
Do you think Ford (jag) would let webber race a holden ? Irvine wanted to do the race a while back.... as did barrachello... and Jimmy Vasser drove a v8 at the Gold Coast Indy |

Maybe if it was at the end of the season, but not during it.
Probably the last current F1 driver to race at Bathurst before the F1 season was completed would have been Alan Jones in 1981. Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and so on were touted for Greg Siddle BMW's at Bathurst in 1985 & 1986 which would have fallen during the F1 season, but both years they didn't come off. |
