Supercars set the rules, Ford Performance built a car to the rules, then Supercars get in a twist just 2 rounds into a season!? What a farce!

Talk about a joke.

By all means set new rules for 2020 (rules that specify COG and specify drag and downforce requirements at a more comprehensive range of speeds and yaw angles), and then let every come back and rehomologate their cars for 2020 to those rules -- but to be changing rules 2 rounds into a season is a disgrace...

Tekno have never really been close to fully funded since SVG left. VIP wanted out at the end of 2015, and reportedly only agreed to 2016 at a much reduced rate. The 2017 Woodstock bourbon deal was only for 5 rounds https://www.foxsports.com.au/motorsp...6cdffa031c58b6 but even though the car ran in their livery for the full year, seemed more to be a face saving exercise rather than a sign of meaningful $$. And the last two years have been the rolling sponsorship model, which is unlikely to be at full freight. Maybe the team has unrealistic expectations of a second year driver or maybe it is just a case of a driver with more wedge knocking on the door.

So what was the alternative? Let the Mustangs dominate for the rest of the season, the results becomes predictable, crowd numbers fall, tv numbers fall and a shrinking sponsorship pool takes a further hit? Clearly the homologation process was a cock up again, (same thing happened last year with the composite panels issue..so much for cost containment), but the best thing to do is acknowledge there is an issue and act as quickly as possible to redress.

Yes, of course.

There was no drop off in crowd numbers when 888 Commodores dominated for multiple seasons. There is no issue with Mustangs dominating for one season.

That's hardly the "best thing" for Ford Performance to get the wins they deserve for doing the best job to the rules! Why should Ford fans be satisfied with that?

Clearly there was a problem with the process and Ford were able to get one over the homologation panel, much like Holden did last year with composite panels. Not the Ford teams fault for trying, but today's result seems to suggest that it wasn't as over the top as some would like to make out.

Well Jono and Charlie could always pair up.(both being ex-DJR partners/customers) although as we know Charlie at times doesn't play too nicely with others.

At Phillip Island McLaughlin in the Mustang is only 0.2s faster than the Falcon from last year, while Whincup with the Linear Spring is 1.2s slower than last year. Kelly is around the same in the Altima.
