Sprints!
Silverstone looked as though it was going to be a bore last Sunday so went along a did some words/pics at the sprint at Northweald (wasn't too exciting either!). Whilst there I bumped into some BRSCC chief bods on a scouting mission. It seems they were checking things out as "the marshals club" might be organising some Sprints at some point. Anybody know anything on this...ie, where, who or when? I ended up putting down about 300yards of cement dust whilst someone swept...only went along to use my camera! (PS: 2 official marshals just sat in their car and watched us doing this -as they did all afternoon and they got given a lunch!!).

Iv'e got to be honest here-(and this isn't knocking the Sprint scene at all) A competitor said to me last year (at Northweald strangely!)"this is great-a full days racing for half the price of circuit racing!" Then I thought about it: 2 practice laps...yes just 2. And then 2 timed laps. So basically it worked out at one and a half minutes of competition in during a whole day-now tell me THATS value for money or is it just me!!!

North Weald is a nasty nasty place. You do get a full day though, event though your not actually driving much its about being there doing it and socialising.

I guess your right about the socialising and all that-at the moment though it seems that competion driving value for entry outlay must be rallying???

Indeed it is baz - hence why I've been absent from the circuits for two years, (apart from the odd sprint at Lydden) but this year I'm coming back. I enjoy sprints cos it gives you the chance to watch loads, hang with the boyz, have a mini car show and then go and play with you favourite toy for a bit.
