Mallory Test June 2nd

More like November than June with the circuit shrouded in fog. Started on time with an open pit lane due to the number and type of cars.
Mike Jordan did a few shakedown laps in son Andrews BTTC Vauxhall, joined my a modern Clio, then it was the older cars that took over. A V8 MGB was particularly fast and he was chased by a Lotus Cortina, Scimitar, MX5, Austin A40, an E Type Jaguar (there was a D Type in the Paddock but it didn't turn a wheel), Alfa 75, and 4 open sportscars - BMW, Crossle, Lotus & Lenman.
There were only a handful of single seaters with a Ralt RT1 by far and away the quickest, chased by something with a bike engine under the covers, an Elva and Bristol Formula Juniors and a couple of F.Ford 1600's. Ian Ashley had a mechanic shakedown his 1600 before swapping over from the Elva to give it a couple of laps at the end of the morning. Most disappointing car was the ex Jim Clark Lotus which could only put together a couple of laps at a time.

By lunchtime the sun had burnt through with the afternoon bike session held in glorious conditions with the Kawasaki Superbike team having a run.

I took my son and his mate. Got a few photos which I'll post if they're any good. How is the rider who fell coming out of Gerards? It looked a big crash.
